Hi me and my friend came across a vid on somebody's my space of the dance academy. Living in folkestone ( kent ) we has never heard of it from the vid it looks fucking amazing!!!!

Was just wondering why it is closed and is it likely to open again??

It's funny really. The rumours that were flying about that place well over a year before it got raided, were that the council wanted it back as a theatre and the fact that the management actually came out with a final statement that they still had it as a club for the next 10 years was definitely seen by myself and many others, that the council needed a way around it.

The police blatantly knew what was going down in there for years and it's funny that after those rumours about the council wanting it back, it finally became a reality when they chose to shut it down when they did.

Last I read in the papers was that boss guy and Tom were in prison for knowingly allowing drugs to be sold on the premises. You have to remember that bar staff and bouncers were found with pills on them when the raid took place, which is why I heard that the appeal Tom and boss put in was rejected.

It's definitely a place I miss, it was part of my introduction to the clubbing scene. However, all good things have a way of unfortunately coming to an end. I have to also agree, if there was ever any way of it re-opening, it would never be the same.

R.I.P Dance Academy, you hold many messy memories! :)
