Canford Park Arena is a permanent facility designed for use 52 weeks in the year. The arena design and construction overcomes the common problems associated with most outdoor event venues. The arena features excellent high capacity vehicular access, generous visitor car parking on stable surfaces, strong ground for stage erection and heavy vehicle parking, noise attenuation bunds, spectator amphitheatres, mains sewerage and mains water supply. Providing security the 37-acre arena site is enclosed by a 2.0 metre high steel fence.
The overall site arena of Canford Park measures 92 acres (37.2 hectares). Canford Park comprises two elements; sports fields with country park measuring 55 acres and the Canford Park Arena and outdoor events arena covering 37 acres.
The events arena opened in 2002 following a three-year construction period.
Canford Park Arena has been awarded the title 'Venue of the Year' at The Events Services Association (TESA) annual awards dinner in London.
Canford Park fended off competition from other, more established venues, such and the London Arena, for this most prestigious of awards. For a venue to win this coveted award in its first year is very unusual and demonstrates the industry's high regard for the venue.
