I want a refund!
I was extremely disappointed by this event.
Hardly any of the main stage acts turned up on saturday and even less on sunday.
The set lists they were selling at £3.50 each were full of errors which caused me and my friends to miss some of the acts we really wanted to see.
On the sunday they continued to sell the set lists even though it was obvious there was errors on them.
Also on the sunday they started letting people in for free which is a complete insult to all of us that paid to attend this shambles.
It says on the website that there would be a bar in the campsite and there wasnt and we werent allowed to take alcohol into the campsite.
I paid to see the acts that were advertised on the website and I did not get what I paid for.
As there is no contact information on the website I ask all of you that feel the same way as I do to tell watchdog how you feel, we all deserve a refund and the more of you that write to watchdog the better our chances are of getting one!

Like I said, I understand and respect that the artists are under no obligation to return their deposits in order to refund on my behalf, however I cant justify acts like Chicane getting £8625 for doing nothing at all, even if they could have been booked for another show, acts like Chicane often play for £4000, so to leave with £8625 and do nothing I wouldnt consider a loss on there part, if they are that concerned about their fans money, they are the only people now sadly in the position to refund them, although I understand this is very unlikely.

Agreeing to pay £8625 for Chicane is crazy sums on money. Was he doing a 10 hour set?

the fact is, i was 1 of the peeps who brought a ticket late in the day!!!! you could have been more honest and shrunk the line up beforehand!!!! like i said sat was worth half the money!!!!! im sure some1 said that chicane did turn up jus to be turned away!!!! as with the freestylers, u wrote them a check that you knew would bounce!!!! all sounds abit underhand to me!!!!!!!!!!

you did not need to cancel the event!!! jus been more honest in the lead up to the event!!!! this whole saga reaks of deciet, like payin your artists with rubber cheques!!!

I paid 198 for a 2 vip weekend tickets which was a huge price to pay for the small headliner acts we got to see so i was hughly dissapointed, however i still had a good time having a stomp with my mates.

I gave up my week in turkey to go to this festival so im dissapointed with high price i paid when i could of gone to my local nightclub then camped in my garden where i could sit and drink a beer outside my tent!!!!!!!

anyway

we have had many a discussion about what Get your Kix have said and done

These big names dj's are meant to bring the fans with them to these events, where the hell was everyone???????????

If these Djs are not bringing in the custom are they worth this fee??

After hearing this about chicane im angry at them, we paid good money to see them, then heard lots of rumours saying their coach bus had turned up at southern sound?????????

Lots of other BIG NAME dj;s were prepared to take a cut or perform for free and chicane has already recieved that huge dep!!!!!!!! most of us dont earn that in 6 months but we fork out on there music and tickets to watch them play- at the end of the day what is a DJ without his fans?????????

I think its selfish for these dj's, no we shouldnt work for free, but this was a one off situation , surley something could have been agreed

if they didnt play they should refund the dep!! So what about contracts , think about what is important instead of your wallets!!

As always the innocent fans are the biggest victims!

But the check bounced and they got fuck all. I wouldn't play for a promoter who fucked me about.

kind of correct, but promoters are the people who should be getting the event out in the public

Would you go to work for 1/2 price? Especially if you worked somewhere that turned out to be really poo?

if they didnt play they should refund the dep!! So what about contracts
The reason there is a contract and deposit is so stop them being fucked in the arse by a promoter. If you're going to break a contract, why bother having one in the first place?

Chicane got paid a massive £8625 deposit, Felix Da Housecat a £5000 deposit, Audio Bullys a £3750 deposit, there balance payments that we couldn't pay due to lack of funds

A cheque never bounced?, they were paid a %50 deposit of £8625 in advance weeks before the event, by bank to bank transfer.

you got fucking mugged mate - they well saw you coming.

I agree.

I don't buy the 'we just hired our brand to them' argument. If you're established and have a regular crowd then you are fully aware that your involvement is an endorsement of the event to YOUR punters. You have a duty of care to them not to endorse an event without being fairly dilligent in your checks on the main promoter.

And if your hired your brand to a 22 year-old spark with no history of pulling off a large scale events, without checking how it was being financed, you didn't protect your punters adequately. You encouraged them to spend money on an event which a little investigation would have revealed was at risk from the off.

See also the Zoo Thousand and Eight fiasco last year.
