PORTSMOUTH RECEIVES NEW £5M STATE-OF-THE-ART NIGHTCLUB

A massive £5m refurbishment to the former Territorial Army Drill Hall on Stanhope Road is set to dramatically transform the building into Portsmouth’s No.1 nightclub entertainment destination.

Opening to the public on Friday 27th April, with a preview night on Thurs 26th, the new state-of-the-art Liquid & Envy nightclub will offer “a complete music, sound and light experience, the biggest named DJs and first class entertainment as well as a stylishly designed venue dedicated to core two age groups” says new general manager, Steve Hudson.

The 1355 capacity Liquid will no doubt appeal to every over 18 clubber in the region, while Envy (555 capacity) will cater for the over 23s, and a more mature clientele offering a trendy yet relaxed club environment playing tunes from all eras.

Envy’s subtle lighting and chic contemporary design and furnishings, create a desirable venue providing an older crowd with a trendy and sophisticated location to unwind. Its unique design has been tailored specifically to encourage people to socialise with friends whether in the comfort of the luxurious seating areas or on the spacious dance floor.

Thanks to a UV stamp system, Envy customers will be able to flow freely into Liquid where the contrast in design and surroundings immediately injects a shot of energy. Liquid’s predominantly white trademark décor allows powerful illuminations and light shows to enhance different ‘moods’ that work simultaneously with the resident DJ’s selection of music.

Liquid is undoubtedly a more upbeat venue playing an eclectic mix of commercial dance, club anthems and the most popular chart tracks guaranteed to lift the vibe of the room. The Liquid room will be dominated by an impressive 360° projection and video surround capable of displaying ‘total immersion’ music videos and stunning visual effects.

Both venues feature sound and lighting facilities, which are among the best in the world, explains Steve: “There is nowhere in the region that can offer what the new Liquid Envy will. We have the best facilities and the ability to bring customers top DJs, PAs and entertainment from all over the world. We are investing heavily into the entire Liquid Envy experience to give our customers something to shout about. We are already in negotiations with a highly credible international name to become a monthly resident DJ.”

The new Monday night student’s session will launch on 30th April with one of the biggest names on the DJ scene, Radio 1’s Dave Pearce.

Within the £5m investment the exclusive VIP room which will be used by visiting celebrities, performers, special guests and the clubs VIP’s. It will also be available for private hire, “Ideal for parties and special occasions” Steve adds. “We will be offering a variety of packages for local businesses wanting to make the right impression, give a certain image to their clients or possibly to reward their staff.”

Over 85 jobs will be created for the opening of the new venue, which will range from glass collectors to managerial roles. Liquid & Envy is now looking to recruit staff at all levels so to join the team and be part of this exciting venture visit www.liquidclubs.com for more details.
