Just over 3 years ago i lay there in a hospital bed with a broken body and face considering how lucky i was that a drunkard off duty doorman hadnt booted me in the head one more time..
I also considered how I hadn't really done anything special in my life should i have taken the spiral staircase to that place up where st peter takes a wild stab at wether your in the god squad.

You might say that was enough motivation to get up and rather than waiting for something to happen I decided to have a go...
For anyone that was present at our first and i'd go so far as to say legendary Ponana parties, I think that being there at the beginning of whats been one hell of a rollercoaster ride is now part of an exclusive club!

Holding a seminal party with a now good friend Lewis Darvill at the Wedgewood rooms in which we filled the room with an atmosphere not seen since the Geushky hay day really propelled our assault onto the scene.
The times of filling a Guildhall and Southsea venue with the friendliest mad hatters all digging electro and techno (before the boom!) really set PunchFunk apart and gave us the opportunity of hosting our 1st birthday at The Opera House in Bournemouth.
Seeing a packed dancefloor of friends, old and new was a great experience and inviting top underground stars to play was un-real..
Lars (Funk D'Void) wearing his t-shirt with pride :o)
Memories that stick out for me from the past 3 years include that 1st birthday and im gratefull that myself and Simon got the chance to play on the hallowed decks of a venue i made the pilgrimage to every week for over 3 years!
Then there were the festival appreances last year...2 of the most excruciatingly stressfull..and best weekends of my life.
Hi:Fi was a statement of intent..we defied the weather to lay on the only outdoor stage at the festival. We heralded the talent that Portsmouth posseses by giving local DJs and bands a chance to wow a festival crowd..and wow them they did!!..

When the sun came out after hours of drizzle the atmosphere around the PunchFunk stage was electric!!
And then Global where we took over a corner of the festival and created our very own camp. it was a very long weekend and after our day of debauchery on the friday myself and Si managed to glue a few festy nutters to our patch of pasture for a rave up in the rain...did someone say karaoke???

The totally un-airable interview..the sunglasses are there for a reason!!!

All those who were there will testify what sort of time was had both on stage..and behind it in camp PunchFunk/Screw...unbelievable!!
Our second birthday where myself, Simon, Matt Berry and Chris Ethers walked from Brighton to Tantrum to be welcomed by a banner waving posse of people was a milestone for us..

For one night you couldnt believe you were in Portsmouth..

SLAM rocking Tantrum to its rafters with unbelievable house and techno...it was also the hottest gig they had ever played in all their days!! Memorable at the very least!! It also helped PunchFunk earn the accolade of Best Event of the year in The News!!
Since then we have launched ourselves in London at The Key. We will be taking a break from London as well this summer before we re-launch come Autumn time.
We have also, along with Breakneck, firmly cemented the biggest friday night on the South coast at South parade Pier. Events pulling in vast numbers of a great and very, VERY up for it crowd.7 parties down the line and we now take a well earned rest from Portsmouth. Welcoming top International talent each month along with providing an outlet for the local DJs to play to our infamous crowd of potty punters!!
Tim Sheridan himself jumping into the mosh pit!!!
And ....May 25th is actually 11 days before the date it all began 3 years ago so this seems a very good time to start celebrating our 3rd birthday...
We have FERGIE coming to rock your preverbial socks off. Ferg as become a close friend of the night and it has seen him relaunch himself on the world scene, especially with the release of his track Ken The Men on PunchFunk Records.
!!!and a very special announcement!!!...
Its virtually unheard of that underground events such as PunchFunk get broadcasts on local radio..BUT.. we can announce that we are going to be broadcast LIVE on Express FM (93.7)
This really is a special occassion for us so tell all your mates that there is nowhere else to go on May 25th!!
Come along..make some whooping noises and get ya dulcid tones on the old wireless...make ya mum proud!!!
Thankyou all you bunch of animals..Myself and Si really appreciate all your support over the last 3 years...we will ofcourse keep you updated on all our adventures in Ibiza..should be fun!!
PunchFunk...We Salute You!!!!!!
