Just thought I would point out that ther Japs maybe quite new rave, but they still have a techno edge as well, the night at the key they played the same room as ferg, so they must be quite techy, they are nothing like new rave bands such as the Gossip.

More breaks would be good Chris!

To be far the japanese Popstars are the only good nu-rave band.

It's all about Derrick he's a legend! I hope you can open a few peoples minds to him.

More breaks would be good Chris!

Dub step would be better.

Some excellent bands playing. This will be a wicked and tastefully different PF.

Love - the indie rocking and (now) raving - Rogue.

Yes they are very good, but don't forget the likes of Soulwax, Digitalism and Simian, who are also very good.

Dub step would be better.

Breakneck have been known to dabble in dubstep.

The month after we have the massive Tom Neville and Jim Masters headlining

Nice!

aren't these all alternative dance acts?

surely nu rave is klaxxons, new young pony club, CSS, etc.....

call me old fashioned but i prefer original rave such as .......
...the KLF, joey beltram, phuture, prodigy, leftfield, carl craig. underground resistance.

Personally i put them all under the new rave umbrella, the likes of klaxxons, simian ect all seem to go hand in hand to me.

On the subject of new rave ect a wicked band I discovered who also dj.... INFADELS I urge you all to check them out, great tunes and great live.

Personally warren I also prefere more traditional dance acts such as.... Chems, Plumps, Zabiela, Underworld and Prodigy.

its all just a new energy and evolution of what those guys were doing way back when warren.

yeah i love those acts and still support that style of music..

We aim to embrace all sorts and we definitely get that ;o)

Its good debate people..shows people care about what they are listening to!

Its going to be a melting pot of people for this event and its quite a bold move as i cant remember a line up creating as much conjecture.

But its great. Its all part of the crazy fuzzy world that keeps us on our toes

Evolve, dont dissolve!!

I think it's the name nu-rave thats the problem. It insults everyone into any form of rave music because your calling us old. You don't have to be a genius to mix indie the biggest style of rock with electro house the biggest style of house.

Also new order were about in the 80's. OK it's not quite the same but it's still indie rock and electronic music. then a few years ago you had Alter Ego - Rocker, Two Lone Swordsmen - From the Double Gone Chapel and Adam Freeland and Evil Nine doing their rocky breaks thing.

Aside from all this nonsense it might be worth pointing out that I play the same music as I did when people said I played electroclash ;) Far as I'm concerned it's housey technoey electro breaksy type stuff with some guitars n shit. Concise ey.

It'll rock by the way.

What about booking Herve and Sinden or the excellent Streetlife dj's, Chris?
I'd even take a Friday nite off from dj'ing myself for either of those!

Mmm yeah, saw Herve play to about 8 people in Southampton with Trevor Loveys last year or the year before. Would love to see him somewhere that justified it!

to me nu "rave" would be classed as bangface ;) but im getting on a bit...

its all about ppls opinions and preference... Japanese Popstars sounds like something i would normally not listen to, but the face melter tune sounds like a good'un and played on a good sound system im sure i'll enjoy it. Its always good to listen to something u normally wouldnt.

P.S Udy ur still " Mr Nu-Rave Electro"

Don't bother with Sinden....saw him at 2020 Rocks in November and he cleared the dancefloor!!!

A little while ago I made a thread about djs I would like to see at punchfunk, but have since learnt that local talent is often better than big name djs who sometimes charge silly money and yet still put on a poor performance. Ive herd rumors ect ect about who maybe getting booked, however one name that I would love to see at punchfunk........
