That pic was from the first and sadly only time I met Giles.
Seemed like a really great guy, and he wanted me to apply for work at mixmag as a result of *that* picture... (pic above)

Could not believe it when I heard what had happened...

An inspiration to many and will never forget the gentleman he was :) I feel sadness but wear a smile of the few fond times I had the pleasure of being in his company.

Regards to all in the thread, hope you are all well.

Right i've just been invited to this. I had only ever met this guy once and we had a looong cool sobar chat (the only two sobar people there I think). He seemed lovely. I had no idea anything had happened to him but I gather from this thread it has. rip

his family gave him a really nice funeral. It wasn't based on talking about religion and crap like my grandad's funeral, which was probably the worst in history. They talked about Giles and his history, they made us laugh and cry with little stories about him. I feel like I formed a little bond with the people who went too.

Yep, that really changed my perspective on funerals along with Rob's (the landlord from The Fawcett Inn).

Amazing people taken too early :(

Rob's funeral was amazing..so spiritual and lots of little quirks like spraying champagne into the grave!

My friend Debbie, who died of cystic fibrosis at 28years old was layed out in a marquee in a field for us to say goodbye with full blast Bob Marley tunes and a bouncey castle!!

I remember all the balloons they released at E's funeral too and everyone dressed in cyber :)
