IT IS the LOUNGE, and not Theme as it says on the ad (mods!!) for some heavy breakbeat and drum n' bass action. This one is gonna be massive with quite possibly Out-Breaks strongest tear out, bassline heavy hardcore breaks line up yet in our, still, fledgling promotions.

Ed 209 and his production techniques have ripped the breakbeat underground apart, catapulting him to the forefront of a nu breed of DJ producers who have championed a dynamic urban drum n’ breaks sound, one which is heavily influenced by the instrumentation and vibrancy of drum n’ bass.
“ I come from a d n’b background and what those guys have done is incredible. They have mapped out a whole industry that is totally untouchable and unstoppable. D n’b isn’t going away, the quality of their production is so high”
Ed, who grew up in Notting Hill and has lived there all his life, started mixing when he was 12 and was playing on jungle pirate stations when he was just 14. Following the natural progression of producing tunes from the age of 17 and releasing d n’b tracks on a small scale Ed’s turning point into the breakbeat world came in 1998.
“I didn’t know what breakbeat was. I stood on the dancefloor and Adam Freeland dropped the Tipper remix of Grooverider’s Jack The Ripper, which was basically d n’b at a slower tempo, but it instantly made sense. I realised you could deliver the same impact, the same high-level energy feeling, the same dynamics, but a slower bpm. I wanted to get involved”
After setting up the label Wireframe Records primarily as a means for getting Ed 209 productions out on to the streets it also enabled Ed to meet other breakbeat producers and DJ’s and to get a foot in the door. This eventually led to a partnership with Ollywood from the Hardcore Beats label, which is where Ed now focuses his efforts.
Hardcore Beats is the most disgusting Tear-out Breakbeat label in existence and was initially set-up by DJ Deekline in 2000 as a sister label to Rat Records, its purpose: to release Breakbeat tunes of a more “Hardcore” nature.
Pioneering the Tear-out sound: the frantic, anthemic energy of Drum & Bass, rolling along at Breakbeats funkier tempo, has led to award-winning mix CDs, 1000+ people raves and 4 years later, Rat and Hardcore Beats going their separate ways. Ollie continues to work on the much-loved, sick Hardcore Beats bastard, after merging the company with Ed209’s Wireframe Records in 2005.
With a history of nurturing fresh new talent, these now infamous artists include Ed209 himself, Control Z, Screwface, Angel Farringdon, Sensi Allstars, Distortionz, DJ Quest, DJ Mutiny, Baobinga & I.D., Shimano and Napt.
Ollywood and Ed209 and the artists involved continue to play out all over the world, with HB nights promoted in Australia, Hungary, Japan, Israel, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Holland, USA, Belgium, Serbia, Romania, Canada, France and of course Spain, home of the biggest Tear-out raves!
“I try to play sets that are smash after smash after smash. There is no time for standing around nodding your head. The tune hits, it drops and you’re going crazy, and just when you’re about to stop going crazy and go with the roll of the tune, another hit comes in and you’re off again. No gaps, just slam after slam!”
Over the years the stable has received major support from a veritable who’s who of the Breakbeat scene: Stanton Warriors, The Freestylers, DJ Icey, Plump DJ’s, The Autobots, Breakfastaz, Tayo, Freq Nasty, Ellis Dee, Ratpack, Krafty Kutz, Shut Up & Dance! Aquasky, Simply Jeff, Uberzone, Rennie Pilgrem, Ils, Slipmatt, The Ragga Twins.
The Hardcore Beats / Wireframe show is broadcast every Tuesday 4-6pm on www.ibreaks.co.uk with shows from Ed 209 and other artists from the label rotating.
The weekly archived shows can be downloaded here: http://www.ibreaks.co.uk/archived_shows/HardcoreBeats.mp3

DJ Ollspin is an indie kid who grew up through the bigbeat explosion before getting into the sounds of nuskool breakbeat, ollspin (aka Spollin) has been DJing and promoting for the past 6 years, pushing the breaks sound to the ravers and party people of the South Coast.
Playing mostly hard funky bassline breaks, taking in skanking dub, oldskool, garage, and drum&bass influences, ollspin consistently contributes towards the South Coast breakbeat scene, promoting and DJing at local parties and also all across the country. Residencies at Influenza (Southampton) and BraceYourself (Opera House), guest sets at well respected nights such as Fuse (Manchester) and Air (London), plus the Influenza Show every Thursday 7pm-9pm (GMT) on NuSkoolBreaks.co.uk Radio, have been the perfect opportunity to showcase the sound of breaks ollspin style.
Spollin also organises the Influenza parties and is the founder and administrator/moderator for South Coast dance music scene website outofthevoid.co.uk DJing at various nights around the South Coast and playing regular guest sets all over the country Ollspin is also involved with the promotion of local breaks/d n’b/hiphop nights, designs flyers for local events, builds websites for local club nights and bands, and is involved with international online breakbeat community NuSkoolBreaks.co.uk (winner of the best website award at Breakspoll, the International Breakbeat Awards, for 2 years running.

Paul BassRock, owner of BassRock Records, hails from the depths of the West country. Paul first started out DJ'ing Electro/Hip Hop back in the days of the mid to late 80's. The sounds of Hardcore in 91/92 soon moved to the forefront of his musical tastes and it is from this era that the sound of "BassRock" takes it influence! Having started the label in 2004 with releases by artists Darkus, Tension, D’State, Transformer Man, Bill Vega and New Decade and supported with remixes by established breaks artists Backdraft and The Autbots earned the label a well earned and respected nomination in the Breakspoll awards for "Best Breakthrough label”. The label is growing all of the time with further strong oldskool influenced and deep down dirty breakbeat productions released by the stable artists. He has also recently worked on collaboration projects with Darkus for the Hardcore Projektz label and his own BassRock Records recent escapades include a guest on Tayo's Kiss100fm radio show and DJ work across the UK and Europe.

Inferno, BassRock and Ollspin have all played Out-Break before which is why we've got them back to play again as their sets, whilst being technically pretty tight, were also quite lively in their own way! With Inferno chopping between oldskool tracks from 'the golden age' to the latest in nuskool hardcore breaks, BassRock spinning breakbeat with more oldskool influences and on a more dub and ragga tip, to Ollspin dropping chunky, filthy bassline breaks. Out-Break resident Jax will play the final hour and is set to drop bomb after d n'b bomb. Having played breaks at all of our other parties we're letting Jax off his leash to maul the dancefloor rinsing it out with drum n' bass!!
