This article is about Sinistry IV @ Venus Vodka Bar in Portsmouth (UK), Sat 21 Feb
Next up, it's Tom Cusden. A regular raver over the past 2 years, he's now ready to step behind the decks and begin proceedings at SinistryIV:The Neon Party! Oh, and he's also the brother of Sinistry resident Philly!
Jester - Hey dude, how's tricks? Tell us about yourself and your Djing style.
Tom - I’m 18 have been mixing for about a year. I mix Hard Dance, predominantly driving, uplifting Hard Trance!
Jester - How did you get into DJing?
Tom - Well I’ve always been musically orientated. I have played guitar for a number of years and have grown up listening to music but not particularly dance music. It was my cousin and brother who really started getting me into dance music as they were going to raves and listening to mixes and both bought decks. I started listening to artists like Rob Tierra & Steve Hill and that was it for me! I bought myself a set of CDJ800s and my love for hard dance has really progressed!
Jester - Who are your favourite producers/DJs?
Tom - On the production side of things, I listen to Hard Trance so its got to be Technikal. His productions really are on another level! DJ-wise, I think you'll find it hard to find someone who plays a better set than Phil Reynolds! Every time I see him he plays an absolute stonker! I also really enjoy both productions and sets from MDA & Spherical! They would have to be up there for me.
Jester - If you could play b2b with anyone, who would you choose?
Tom - Ooh that’s a tricky one, but it would have to be Kevin Energy. Every time I see him play he’s doing different tricks!! I think his style would really compliment mine and we’d absolutely rock it!!
Jester - What are your plans for 2009?
Tom - Gigs, gigs and more gigs! And in the meantime try and crack this production thingy.
Jester - What have you got in store for the Sinners at SinistryIV?
Tom - Well the set is mainly going to be consisted of new stuff, hot off the press! Its going to have something for everyone, some Techy stuff, some uplifting Hard Trance and some Hardstyle. Enough to get any member of the Sinistry crowd rockin!
