MARK FANCIULLI - Stereo Beatbox Interview...

Tell us a little about Mark Fanciulli...

Where do your musical routes lie and how did you get involved in the dance music scene?

I got into DJing through my brother. I used to watch him and thought that it looked fun and wanted to give it a try so i did.

You are the brother to one of the most famous DJs in the world, does the fact you have the same Surname ever put pressure on you?

No not really, I can understand that people may think differently as I have a famous brother, that they may possibly assume that i must in turn be good as well, but I dont think about it really. I just get on with it and enjoy myself.

What DJ's and producers are you respecting at the moment?

At the moment the DJs doing it for me are Dopamine, Micky Slim and Elite Force.

The producers who i think are amazing at the moment are Jesse Rose, General Midi, Lee Coombs, Dopamine, 8 Bit, Phil Kieran and Eddy Airbow.

With the intense passion for music that you quite blatantly have you must have spent a fair few hours in dark and dingy clubs the other side of the DJ box? What clubs have you frequented most along the way?

Turnmills in London is one of my favourite clubs, it was the first club i ever went to in the capital.
I love playing there too, it really goes off, especially in T2. Other clubs that i have been to frequently are also the Loft in Maidstone and Ministry Of Sound in London.

What plans do you have for the year ahead?

I just want to carry on playing in new venues and hopefully even get some gigs abroad. I'm trying to push myself more as a producer too, so am working on some tracks.

Will you be spending much time in Ibiza this season?

Hopefully, I haven't booked anything yet, but will probably go for the closing parties.

What can Manchester and Preston's clubbers expect from your forthcoming STEREO BEATBOX Debut?

Breakbeat, but with slices of techno and house to keep it interesting, and a lot of funk to keep everyone dancing.
