An insight into DEEPGROOVE....

DEEPGROOVE

Joined at the hip, through a love of partying, Deepgroove's Lee Pattison & Grayson Shipley are setting the world alight with their incendiary four deck DJ shows and red hot productions.

The UK's finest, Deepgroove, have been concentrating firmly on spreading the gospel of dirty, big room, twisted 4am moments with the use of new technology within djing to bring a punk attitude to their dancefloors.

Whether it be hosting parties, rocking the big tents at festivals or through their chunky and powerful, dirty house productions, they have sought to provide a focal point for musicians, djs and clubbers alike who love their bass booming, the lights turned down low and their music jacking.

Their sound has travelled the globe with props from Deep Dish, Steve Lawler, Medicine8, Tom Stephan and special support from Jon Carter; debut Junior Records single, "Kemical" a collaboration with tribal god D Ramirez led to national Radio One plays from Fergie, Annie Nightingale, Seb Fontaine, Annie Mac and Pete Tong.

Each and every Deepgroove release has Buzz Charted and most have received radio plays from every major dance station around the world. Deepgroove's "Fascinated" (Dub) (UMM) was also awarded Radio One's Pete Tong's Essential New Tune in March 2006. A month later the duo appeared on the show for his "DJ on the Phone" section, playing their remix of Ricky Stone's "Shanghai Taxi" (RED RECORDINGS).

"Fascinated" also reached no. 1 in the UK Dance Industry's Music Week Chart, rode high in the DJ Magazine HYPE Chart for over a month and peaked at no.5 in the CLUB CHART!

The root of it all; separately or in the midst of a four deck onslaught, these guys know how to take your dancefloor apart and create magical moments. Drawing inspiration from the continually fresh, cutting-edge of international clubbing, the pair continue to strive to bring a twisted, yet floor rocking attitude to their song writing and DJ performances. The response has been fantastic with accolades from all corners of the dance industry with bookings and residencies following from big players such as Underwater, Slinky, Kissdafunk, Turnmills, Godskitchen, Type, Zouk, Tribal Gathering and the Ministry of Sound, and with sets alongside the likes of X-Press 2, Pete Tong, Darren Emerson, Paul Oakenfold, Fergie, Junior Jack & Kid Crème, Felix Da Housecat, Axwell, MYNC Project, Marshall Jefferson, Tim Sheridan, Audiofly, Futureshock, Seb Fontaine, Mike Monday, Trophy Twins, Tony Thomas, D Ramirez, Jody (Way Out West), The Beginerz, Tim Andresen (Denmark), Mark Knight & MTV, Erick Morillo...

Deepgroove have recently been given the honour of mixing the launch CD for a new compilation on Darren Emerson’s Underwater Records called the SOLO Series. Their SOLO World Tour has already taken in Shanghai, Australia, Singapore, Latvia, Lithuania, Dubai and will be touring Europe extensively in the coming months.

“Book these guys and the only way you’ll get rid of them is to find them another party”
DJ Magazine

'No messing, they do exactly what it say's on the tin...they know how to drop it!'
Pete Tong (BBC Radio 1)

"I came across these two guys quite a few years ago and liked what I heard. I made sure I got sent all their upfront material which I championed on Radio One. I then invited them to come and play the very first Excentric party where they hosted their own room, and to say it 'went off' is an understatement! Their sound is constantly developing and never fails to get you where you need to go!!"
Fergie (BBC Radio1)

“Proving that it’s still possible for real talent to break through, the Deepgroove boys have made the noughties their own”
Russell Deeks (iDJ, Editor)

"With a 100% party attitude and a keen ear for exactly the right tune to devastate the dancefloor, Deepgroove consistently smash it. And when not controlling the decks themselves, their stream of tough productions lend an injection of Deepgroove party skulduggery to the sets of a strikingly wide range of others too. Who can argue with any DJs who routinely turn up with a box of fancy dress, anyway?"
Tom Kihl (DJ Magazine, Deputy Editor)
