Hastings DJ here looking to spread his wings lol - no, seriously, I run my own events in Hastings, but am looking to play in a town that has an atmosphere, or at least one that's more lively than a bingo hall on a Sunday lunchtime!

Anyway, I play mostly electro, tech house & breaks - is that something Coco would be interested in?

I've been playing for about 5 years, but living in Hastings I haven't really had much chance to get anywhere!

Well, without going into it in too much depth, the two 'night clubs' (I use the word loosely) - Davincis/Belugga and Coco Lounge - both have what they think is a good formula: RNB/Club Classics etc every Friday and Saturday. They both make a shit load out of the 'hen-night-esque' atmosphere. Therefore, iit's not going to change. Both clubs - especially Davs - are about the club, not the DJ. And they have tossers queing up well into the night to get in there for a bit of the action - why would they change something that works and earns them good money?

In short, both places are fucking shit and I'd rather eat my own eyeballs with a spoon than go to either of them.

However, I would probably go if they said such and such house DJ playing tonight. As it stands the music in there, the people in there and the attitude of the bouncers just fucks me off to extreme levels.

Fair enough, I thought Coco was fairly dancey - if it is the usual RnB style then I won't bother :)

Tragically, Zutalor speaks the truth :-( Saying that, I seem to remember there being a drum 'n' bass night at Coco with MC Shabba D a while back, or am I just imagining things again? (it wouldn't be the first time...) Anyways, Tunbridge Wells has got nothing on Hastings, clubbing wise, unfortunately (apart from Momentum, obviously...:-P)

Don't let me or ShiftE stop you from trying mate... It's worth a go at least. Send them a mix CD.

I don't hold much hope for you, though. If you did get a slot I would imagine they will have a fairly heavy hand in your playlist too.

Interesting to see comments about El Mono's refurbishment...more evidence that it hasnt taken off at all. Now thats where me and my guys come in...we are planning a new night each week, playing the tunes what people want...no one wants to hear 80's and 90's...unless your over 30, and last time I checked, it was now for over 18s. We are different and hope to build a reputation with the youth of the town and surrounding areas. That means, Funky and Electro House, Old Skool Garage and Sexy RnB. Tun Wells will be blown away and we will get the club going again...there is a group on Facebook so please join in, so we can show the management what people want. The group is called 'Bring SexyBack to El Mono Tun Wells'...

We wont disappoint...but if no one does anything about it, then you wont have anywhere decent to go. Tun Wells is now dead...no Litten Tree, no Barzia, no Bar 54...we will rejuvenate it if you let us!
