Yeah just shame about the poor sound system and state of the Tidy tent. Tidy really let him and the other dj's down, he must have been gutted as it was his debut @ Creamfields. I was really looking forward to Andy's set, but the venue ruined it for me. The tidy tent was an embarrasment to tidy! There was no denying that is was clearly an old circus tent, which they had probably bought off ebay a few years back. With all the success and money that tidy have there was no excuse for that tent.
Understandable if it was their first year and they were trying it out but it has been that same tent for the past 3 Ive been, and who knows how long before. The sound was so bad you could not only hear what your mate was saying, you could hear what your mate was saying to someone else 5 feet away! And what the fuck were those beams about?! You try and have a dance but you are forever dodging these floor to ceiling beams that you bang your head on every time you turn round. There were more people sat down than dancing, as one side of the tent was dead as it was in pitch black and really quiet. The stage consisted of an mdf box and 4 speakers and everyone was chanting "turn it up!" I thought there was a problem across the whole of creamfields but no, just the tidy tent and their crap system! The lighting was 2 strobes at the side of the stage and one green lazer which just went up and down!

An as for the the Tidy Boys... well, I do love 'em (nearly as much as Andy), but for fucks sake Amadeus and Andy! They play a choon and the "euphoric breakdown" comes on and they go for the hard sell on weekender tickets! How many other djs (other than at a wedding or on the radio) take a microphone on stage and chat and promote stuff over their records???

I dont think I'll be going next year, I spend a fortune to basically go in the tidy tent (although I do go and see other stuff) and thats what they offer..! Unless they get a proper 'arena' like the other hosts (even chibuku's tent was far superior) it really not worth the £60-odd for a ticket, plus travel expenses, plus drinks etc. I'll have to go and see him elsewhere when I can really appreciate his set. Festival wise, it will be Global instead I think!

Global was barely better for volume when whitby was playing - If you want loud, quality sound and a good hard house lineup then the tidyweekender is about the only thing you can count on, I can't wait to get back to prestatyn after a summer of too quiet festivals with shite weather!

yer it was WAY to quite in the tidy tent but i cant complain about the stobes i have to say! when they finaly did 'TURN IT UP' and the stobes came on....well i swear i went to heaven and saw the lord him self hahaha, but yes global was 1000 times better. MUCH bigger tent, alot more packed and the lights were insain there

To be honest, i expected Creamfields to be smaller and stuff though, it was only a 1 night event, a lot smaller capacity, and cheaper tickets...Still had an amazing time though, but Global Gathering was fucking out of this world!!

Ive never been to Global, I think probably cos Creamfields is closer to where I live and its much easier for me to get to. But next year Im definitely trying Global- Id rather travel the extra distance to get a better atmosphere!
