More than what i expected...
I had never been to Creamfields so i didnt really know what to expect apart from it being a dance festival. I have now come to realise that it is much, much more than just an average dance festival. Travelling all the way from Kent to Daresbury was a journey and a half but the excitement and anticipation i was feeling made the journey a lot better. After arriving in the beautiful, peaceful village of Daresbury on the Friday it was hard to believe that in just 24 hours it would be full of hardcore ravers and some of the best DJ's and bands in the world. My friends and i had to sleep in our cars on the Friday night at the side of the road as did many other people, we were asleep by 10pm as we knew that we had a long day and night ahead of us on the Saturday.

5am Saturday morning we woke up and we all made our way to the Creamfields site hoping that we got there early enough to avoid major queues. We were fortunate enough to have missed the majority of the traffic and after getting my car stuck in the muddy fields we had finally arrived at the Creamfields site. I must admit i was a little annoyed that the security had to take my foundation away as it was in a glass bottle and my friend had her perfume bottle taken away, however i was too excited about the Festival itself so our moods quickly lifted. We set up our tent in the yellow camp site by about 11am and we waited anxiously for the arena to open. When it finally opened its doors i was instantly amazed by the size of the arena itself. I had only been to one festival previous before Creamfields which was on a much smaller scale. I knew then that this was going to be an amazing weekend.

I Was especially excited about the Drum and Bass at Creamfields being an avid Drum and Bass fan and i must say i was not dissapointed at all! Dj Marky played a blinder but my favourite had to be High Contrast. He really got the crowd going straight away when he dropped his remix of Adeles Hometown glory at the beginning of his set. Everybody in the tent was singing along, also his version of Kanye West's Flashing Lights also went down very well with the crowd. I have been a big fan of High Contrast for a long time now and i must say he was absolutely brilliant at Creamfields 2008. Other Favourites on the Saturday had to be Pendulum, my friends had seen them live before and rated Pendulum as being one the best live performers of the year and i totally agree, i was impressed with the way they got the crowd going and they belted out some of there best hits such as Hold You Colour and Voodoo People.

Many of the actual Dance, Trance and Electro acts were brilliant including Kissy Sell Out, Dave Spoon, Sebastian Ingrosso and Axwell but as many will agree Tiesto literally raised the roof on the Sunday night. It wasnt until about half way through when me and my friends went into the Cream tent as we went to check out Kasabian (who did the festival justice as an indie headliner) we were shocked to see the massive queues to get into the tent itself we eventually made our way in just before Tiesto dropped Deleriums Silence. I literally had goose pimples, ive been to many clubs before but the atmosphere in the tent was far better than any club ive ever been to. There were thousands of people chanting "TIESTO" which was extrodinary. I now understand why he is rated as one of the best DJ's in the world. The place exploded when Adagio For Strings came on and the tunes just kept on coming, definatly a highlight of the whole weekend.

I was so impressed with the whole festival. the music, the atmosphere, the people and even the toilets werent as bad as i thought they were going to be from past experience at a Festival. All in all it was better than i expected and apart from the mud and the rain it was an amazing experience which i would like to do again next year!!!

Reading that gave me goose pimples, i agree with you though. Tiesto was immense yet again. I haven't had any probs this year at creamfields, even the taxi's after the event were ace, i only live 15 mins from the site and they never charged over the odd's. Previous years i've seen people pay £40 - £80 for a 20 minute trip. Very impressed with it all this year, bring on 2009!! its just getting better & better
