Watch the sun rise over stonehenge at the start of the longest day of the year, an awesome experience that thousands congregate to witness every year. Direct access to the stones is usually from 11pm, access to the car park throughout the day. Parking and entry are free. Some items are not allowed into the direct area around the stones, such as; Glass bottles Tents Stereo systems Animals You will receive a full list on arrival frrom the parkling attendants, along with a bin bag, please take your rubbish home with you. There is a walk of around a mile or so from the car park to the stones over fieldland. Be warned, by 2am on the middle of Salisbury Plain it gets VERY cold even at this time of year, so wrap up warm and bring something waterproof to sit on! There will be a few outlets for food and drink, but choice is usually very limited and vegetarian/vegan based so bringing your own food and drink is a good idea, as is a loo roll as the only toilet facilities are portaloos! Directions Stonehenge is clearly sign-posted from the A303, be prepared for a lot of traffic!
