Worship at the clubbing altar of Salisbury

This article is about The Chapel Nightclub in Salisbury

The Chapel Nightclub in Salisbury was established in 1997 by owner Jonathan Newbery. He had the bright idea of renovating a derelict Church and Sunday school and spent a year completing structural changes and alterations before the transformation into the nightclub was complete.
Possibly due to its unique environs, the club swiftly established itself as the local clubbing destination of choice and plans were made to expand the club further.

As a result, The Chapel now boasts four separate areas designed to offer clubbers the ultimate night out.

A neighbouring block, which included a 13th century pub was bought up and the pub soon became known as The Vestry.

Open Thursday to Saturday nights, the Vestry is a great way to begin your night, acting as a feeder bar for The Chapel then after 11pm turning into a chill-out room for the club.

In 2006 the first Friday of each month was recently transformed to a much more serious clubbers night by promoter's XLR8,with their HARD TRANCE night's 'VISION' (Now moved to a Saturday night).
Armed with their own posse of talented resident Dj's,the promoters and entertainment's manager have worked very hard to establish a most welcomed night in Salisbury to put it back on the map of the 'clubbing' scene, steering away from the 'normal' chart & commercial dance music themed nights.
Now there is great interest after succesive good night's in 2006 from the XLR8 crew, they are now including well established, globally recognised Dj's on VISION night's,the first one in February 2007 was with 'Jon The Baptist' headlining an awesome line up.
Watch this space for future event's brining you the best talented Dj's the CHAPEL NIGHTCLUB and XLR8 (VISION) have to offer for 2007!

The main chapel room is totaly transformed for 'VISION' nights, boasting a mind blowing sound system and a state of the art array of lighting, including strobe's,laser's and smoke.Decorated with UV wall hangings/banners,and inflatables hanging from the ceiling, all creating the perfect clubber's atmosphere. Also in the main room the Dj box has a superb backdrop being the old giant organ and dance podiums either side,a bar to the right,a good sized dancefloor and seating on the left, right and center towards the back end of the room.Walking out of the main room into a semi-seated open area which leads to the other room's,there is the ChillOut room (Vestry) on the right, open after 11pm with it's own bar and Dj box.
The VISION night's provide a great atmosphere and dance music that you will recognise and enjoy to ensure a sublime clubbing experience.

the chapel is the most over priced, under attended dirty little hole in salisbury. the £10 to buy entry would be better off spent in a fruit machine that way you wont lose out on as much time finding out you've wasted your money.

PRESS RELEASE 19th March 2007

Re: Saturday 17.3.2007

A decision was made by Club Management of The Chapel Nightclub to close during peak trading hours following one of the busiest Saturday nights’ trading this year. Over 900 guests were evacuated from the premises shortly before 2.00am following the sudden collapse of a young lady who remains in a serious condition even after intervention from trained door staff in the Club.

A representative from Salisbury Police said,

“We have worked closely in the past with The Chapel Nightclub and were impressed with their calm and professional response of The Chapel staff in the face of a potentially difficult situation on Saturday night.”

Jonathan Newbery, the owner of The Chapel Nightclub said,

“We were extremely concerned following the collapse on the dance floor of one of our guests and, having been informed of her very serious condition, made the difficult decision to close the Club.

We have always put the welfare and safety of our guests as our very top priority and, consequently, always have a number of very highly trained members of staff on duty who have assisted the emergency services on a number of occasions. I was proud of their professional response during the difficult situation on Saturday and I join together with all my staff to give our very best wishes to those involved.

We apologise to all our Saturday night guests who were inconvenienced and had their evening cut short but our Management were grateful at the way every guest evacuated in a calm and well behaved manner.”

We would like to invite any guest who felt that their evening was spoilt to contact us on 01722 504255 today or tomorrow so that we can make arrangements to re-enter them to the club this Saturday night.

No this is`nt anything to do with the Xlr8 nights, this was only a couple of saturdays ago.

I can t see why the vision nights where cut off, surely not cus of this?

Nothing to do with this incident Jinx-C,was ordered by the main manager of The Chapel that Xlr8 nights no longer required,no bad vibes with the Xlr8 legacy mate dont know why it stopped just no longer required by the management.

Xlr8 still lives on with the trance vibe,Xlr8 has just changed direction a little.

Fair play m8, so they decided that commercial nights ,are all they are going to cater for, i find it very unfair on, xlr8 crew and all the salisbury crew, we now have no big venues in salisbury doing anything decent, you might aswell knock them all down, arts centre, leasure centre, chaple, city hall, all take the piss and have no idea how to cater for the salsibury clubing (raving) crew..

Although, the above mentioned all have done so,mething half decent in the past, the big question is, wwhy have they all stuck ther fingers up to us and told us where to go, in other words??

I hAVE ONE THING TO SAY TO THE INDIVIDUALS WHO have kept on keeping salsibury as a meat market, just to line there pockets, SHAME ON YOU!!!!!!
