Hey all,

As you all probably know by now but The Fez will cease to trade very soon and so we are going to have to make this our last Pin-Up at The Fez....Many great memories for the place so we will make sure we go out with an almightyt BANG and give the ol' girl the send-off she deserves. Meanwhile we are endeavouring to find a new home for Pin-Up but till then....get yourselfs down Friday!

Two Northwest powerhouse talents take on Pin-Up this Friday. For those of you lucky enough to have experienced the Chibuku phenomenon will surely that the strength of their night lies squarely on the shoulders of their wide array of residents and Friday 6th of October sees the arrival at Pin-Up of two of their finest and best loved residents….

Phat Phil Cooper has been in the business from the early days of superclub-dom….but unlike many other casualties from the scene his love of the music that he plays as well as his large (ahem!!) appetite for life his star prevails. In fact Phil has never been busier… his residencies at Chibuku and Common Ground in Liverpool and right round the world go from strength to strength….anything from a pub in Chester to a runaway train in Wales to Space in Ibiza via a Lake in Malawi…. getting big ups from people as diverse as Kenny Dope, Bugz in the Attic, Ashley Beedle, Cuban Brothers and DJ Touche along the way.
Not content with that, Phil runs his very highly successful night – Sick Trumpet, celebrating the alternative scenes joining the dots from reggae to soul to hip hop via some house.
But for his triumphant return to Pin-Up tonight we get the full wrath of his immense (ahem again!!) house music collection.
He rocked our house the last time and this time will be no exception considering he be bringing yet another Chibuku star to power on the preceedings.

Leo Belchetz is a hero at Chibuku …FACT. He is currently their longest serving ‘pool based ressie and his popularity never seems to fade. Maybe its because time and time again Mr Belchetz more than delivers the goods to the Buku faithful. His breatdh and understanding of house music and his ability to programme sets is nothing short of breathtaking. Looking at the tracklisting for his warm-up set for Derrick May is like reading into the mind of someone as hell bent on educating the masses as well of ripping the roof off The Masque – referencing Mr V, Alex Smoke, My Robot Friend, Akabu and Swag in a set that took in 32 tracks!
He also helms regular 8 hour sets at Liverpool institution Babycream…
A typical set would include in a reviewers words “House music bridging the gap between the underground and the accessible, he moves with ease from spacious, chunky deep house, through funky and acid sounds, to jacking, techno-tinged material without dropping a beat”.

Morover he is just as keen to support the small underground nights as he is playing 5000 capacity festivals…truly a mark of a DJ with an inherent love for the scene and the music as well as the ability to rock the party.

A match made in heaven? We think so. But to be extra sure we get the night right we throw yet another curveball at ya in the form of our very own ....

Kristoph. His ascendancy and maturity into his rightful place behind the decks at Pin-Up has been a revelation. Expect his trademark techy, bleepy, f**ked up take on house music…

Sweet.
