Hello PLAY peeps!
Welcome to PLAY 2008! All is set for another wonderful festival...shows, sunshine (if we cross our fingers hard enough) music, workshops, games, friends and fun! We're really looking forward to it again this year and we hope you are too.
As you can see, our website is being redeveloped, and we promise it'll become more beautiful over the next few weeks. But you can, of course, buy a ticket for the best festival ever!
PLAY Festival runs 23rd to 27th July, at Llanfyllin, Wales, on the site of the rather lovely workhouse festival This means we not only have a lovely and somewhat larger main tent, but also all of the electricity used on site comes directly from renewable resources, and we don't have to pick up large quantities of... thistles.
This year we have introduced a childs ticket price for those aged 11-15. Everyone 10 and under still comes for free. We have increased the adult ticket age from 14 to 16 to make it more affordable for family visitors. Group family tickets are also available in the shop to save even more.
Early bird discount prices are available until the 1st June

(it's much closer and easier to get to than you might think!)

PUBLIC TRANSPORT
This year we will not be running the PLAY Bus for arrivals, due to it's proximity to Welshpool train station and local bus services. There is a direct bus every two hours from Welshpool main station that takes 35 minutes. You can find more info to plan your journey HERE
As there are no public bus services available on Sunday so we will run the PLAY Bus for return yourneys to Welshpool Station, donations appreciated and it will run from 9am until 4pm.
PARKING
Car parking is available on site, and to encourage lift sharing, there will be a nominal parking payment scheme where the more people you have arriving in the car the less the charge is!
Charges for a typical car are:
1 Person = £4
2 People = £3
3 People = £2
4 People = £1
Motor bikes = £2 (with pillion = £1)
Other transportation devices judged fairly on arrival! (campers will be counted as cars where applicable, push bikes are free)
So if you fancy picking someone up on the way (even if it's only from Welshpool station as you come past) you could help some one and save a few quid at the same time :)
All parking fee's will be donated to the The Llanfyllin Dolydd Building Preservation Trust (charity no.1090197) to help preserve and regenerate the wonderful site we're on.
