INVASIONS 5TH B'DAY! OD404 LIVE! PLUMP DJS! K90! LEZ LAB4! JON O'BIR!! & 5555 BALLOONS!!

We’re 5!!!

I can’t believe we’ve been going 5 years now! After the ups and downs of the last 5 years it’s been hard going! But we’re still here!

Looking back on Invasion and what we’ve achieved over the last 5 years I feel proud and confident about our future, we’ve constantly managed to push new boundaries for events in Shropshire, setting the bar high. We’ve brought the biggest never before seen names in Trance and hard dance to Shrewsbury, made people realize that this sort of event can work in the sleepy Shire! Packed out the Buttermarket with 1200+ clubbers before now, taken an event from Shrewsbury and put it on with 100% success over in Ibiza at one of the world’s biggest clubs, Eden! We’ve ran weekly events over years, gone fortnightly and now monthly, We’ve had constant posstive support from the UK's media and clubbing community, with excellent reviews in many of the top Magazines and websites. The last Invasion event working closely with Draconian funk we brought you the first legal, licensed morning after party Shrewsbury’s seen and the birthday will see this taken to the next level! We’ve always tried to work with and get all the promotional brands from Shrewsbury involved in what we’re doing, teaming up with energized to bring some of the best forest parties Shropshire has seen! Joining forces with Planet Breaks to hammer Ibiza! We’re currently working with, Planet Breaks, 2 Kilos, Organic, Traffic, Tremors, Energized and many others to try and continue to bring constantly successful monthly events to Shrewsbury… One of the greatest things we’ve achieved is showing everyone its possible, I’ve had chats with most of the promoters in town and a large majority have said there initial, inspiration, push and determination to put on there own events is after coming to Invasion and realizing its possible…

(INVASION: IBIZA 2006)

The following we’ve got at Invasion is constantly growing and we’ve had many regulars with us since the beginning, always there and showing 100% support through the good and difficult times. I would like to say thank you to you all for your support as the party’s we put on are just that and only that, a Party put on for you guys. My motto has always been the same “It’s about the party” never anything else… and always will be just that.

So what do we have planned for our Birthday bash!! Something special!!

We’ve tried to bring together a mix of things to make the event some thing special!

Our old friends and Invasion: Ibiza! Residents, K90 and Jon O’bir will be making there presence known on the wheels of steel. Also we have Lez formally the other half of Lab 4 until they split, Lez is going to be playing his first ever DJ set which is very exciting, Lez is branching out to the electro sound, when he e-mailed me about playing his words were “an electro filth from hell set” so I have no doubt it will be a blinder!

Also to finish of invasions line up upstairs we have OD404 live, now OD404’s live sets have been causing a massive stir across clubland and we’re privileged to have them playing for our birthday to be the final cherry on our Invasion line up!

As the main room is chocker with our big birthday line up the Invasion residents will be playing in the 2nd room hosted by Fuzzy Logic and Clubbed Up, provinding the freshest electro sounds!

What are 2 kilos of breaks bringing to our birthday party… well after sorting the line up out for Invasions party upstairs I was blown away to find the 2 kilos boys have arranged for none other than the Plump DJs to tear the cellars apart!

Plump DJ's

Breakbeat was slumbering away peacefully before the Plump DJs gave it a loud wakeup call with their first release 'Electric Disco/Plumpy Chunks' in 1999. With thundering momentum, their critically acclaimed productions reformatted dancefloors and perceptions, and set new production standards. Some were scared silly, few fell back asleep, but many jumped up for a shower of Plump freshness. And an alarming universal consensus was formed. Everyone wanted a piece of the Plump pie, and fat was in.

Inspired by a top shelf girlie mag entitled Plumpers, Lee Rous and Andy Gardner met and the Plump DJs were born. It would be nice to say that before making music, the Plump DJs had glamorous jobs - but we can1t. Before the duo met Andy worked in a cardboard box factory and Lee was a waiter at a Berni Inn. The music started as a hobby and after a number of excursions and collaborations with the Freskanova camp, the two found their oats at the Finger Lickin' stable.

A global need for the bold attitude, squidgy sounds, and Behemoth basslines amplified by the Plumps pushed the duo into their Soho based Laboratoire Plump to manifest a large destiny. Jerk to inflate! Inflate it did, next vinyl.

'The Push/Remember My Name' on Finger Lickin', waxed the hairs off everyone's legs and the screams of delight led the lads into completing their feature album "A Plump Night Out" in 1999. The album sampler rocketed to No.1 on DJ magazine Breaks and Beats chart for three issues in a row.

Before Lee and Andy could smile for another photo shoot, remix opportunities were piled on the doorstep. Jumpin' and Pumpin' (with perhaps a bit of pimpin1) through the year of chronic concoctions the Plump DJs' spin of Stakker Humanoid's classic 'Humanoid' and a spate of other remixes for The Freestylers, DeeJay Punk Roc and Mint Royale ballooned their status. Perfecting a repertoire of coercive gruff sounds, the Plumps were in high demand.

Their remixes for the likes of BT and Orbital became the bubbles of oxygen that rose to the top of the ocean of global dance music. The Plump ship made waves, putting the excitable "Oh" back into H20. Historians, dance music critiques, and Soho restaurateurs chuckled with glee as Lee and Andy won the Galaxy loaded with dancefloor ammunition; launching Smartbombs and dropping laughing gas onto Funny Break terrain, replacing testosterone nu-skool with accessible sonic boom and arse wiggle.

SuperStyle Deluxe
SuperStyleDeluxe (Dan Holmes & Neil Simons) are responsible for many of the floor rocking Breakbeats and midtempo hits that keep the booty shaking. "Making music you can dance too" has been the aim and moto since the whole concept began. It started with the mass production of mix tapes titled SuperStyleDeluxe and adventuring into the realms of hip hop- Breaks Disco etc. All laden with a sprinkle of Turntableism this became the trademark for the young superstyedeluxe and selling them at the local legendary club Stump Juice based in Wolverhampton UK where Dan (the DJ) up held his residency with those heavy weight Latinos The Capoeira Twins. Population and demand for the mixes snow bald, gaining magazine reviews and reaching as far off as Europe & Canada. Production and tunes soon started flowing and a record contract was secured with Hamburg's Lounge Records. A barrow load of releases followed all gaining props from the Plump Dj's Krafty Kuts- Mr Scruff for their unique sound and diverse approach to making dance records. Remixes have seen Dido, Bent, Venus Hum, Reno, Pink, Stabilizer, Circuit Breaker & The Strike Boys to name but a few to receive the SuperStyleDeluxe treatment. The pair have achieved great praise with Breaks poll nominations, number one chartings and worldwide exposure with their releases. This has resulted in a SuperStyleDeluxe record sitting in many a dj's box. The pair are now coming off Brighton's" Heavy Weight" breaks label "SuperCharged/Against The Grain" with the long awaited debut album sitting nicely in the Pipeline. And if that wasnt enough they have just started a brand new label called The Payback Project which is making all the right moves The clubbing circuit has seen the introduction of Mc Chickaboo to the SuperStyleDeluxe DJ show. Recent releases with Chickaboo and heavy touring has placed them among the top DJ/ Mc acts. With tours from Europe, Canada,Australia & Asisa. Their acclaimed shows have been one of the hottest things coming out of the UK.
