don't think its really necessary upstairs man.... the buttermarkets in house system is 10k... and last time i checked it sounds fucking wicked (despite what people like to say about it).

Like I said earlier.... upstairs system is phat when set up right. I've heard it sound pretty mean (the Spektrum night me and Naypan played), and heard it sound pretty shocking (Bouncin Beats). I always thought it was shite until I actually experienced it at Spektrum... infact thinking about it, it sounded phat at Raveology in 06, I thought Magika bought his own system down for that but I was mistaken!

You could stand in a certain place in the DJ booth for about a minute before it made you feel sick from vibrations.

Downstairs needs sorting baaaaadly though... both rooms are a bit worse for wear. You should get that Goblin sound system perminently installed down there :)

Yeh upstairs is largely dependant (believe it or not) on how you set your gains on the mixer. Too high and you get it loud but its massively distorted by the limiters on the amps... too low and yeah, it doesn't sound As loud, but the bass weight is far greater. Get it tuned just right and its fucking beautiful.

Been testing my productions through it... ok, the room is minus 400 people (and people Absorb sound! shocker i know!!).. but when the balance is just right, and your stood in the best audible point on the floor (dead centre beyond the steps) and yeah, it will kick you around.

the main problem you see is the majority of DJs who play invasion / bouncin beats / etc seem to think that more gain = better sound.

I almost wet the bed a couple of months ago at invasion v sundissential. Lisa Pinup ramped the gains THAT MUCH that it cut the system out all together for about 30 seconds... never seen that happen before. considering she's a highly regarded professional, you'd think she'd know a thing or two about redlining..

Yeah the reason I asked about it is because ive been to some nights there lately and the system has ruined my life!

If it can be tuned to sound better though for this then fair play.

yeh man.. i mean to be fair to sub:soundz i think the dnb crowd (the most accused of redlining the majority of the time!) are actually some of the only people who get it right!

Just thinking back on the bloody times the same happened on Rush... surprisingly even limiter compressors don't like being thrashed.
