High Society @ Bambuu - what's up with Bambuubar?
How often is it you get MC Kie, PSG, Sparks, Pied Piper and Kason Kaye all together on one night - well the answer is never, and surely this was one of the biggest nights 'ever' in Southampton.

I left with great anticipation that this was going to be a night to remember, and not having a ticket, I was slightly worried I wouldn't even get in.

When I got to Bambuu I was bit surprised that the entry was £5, the same as the price of a ticket in advance.

When I got in the club, I was in complete shock - there were literally about 40 people in there, with Mc Kie on the mic and Ryan B djing. I looked at my friend, and felt completely embarrassed to be there!

To be fair all the performers turned up, with PSG, Kie, Pied Piper and Jason Kaye all doing there sets, and still putting on a good performance. You’ve got to give them credit for the professionalism, given that they have performed at some of the biggest venues in the world. I for one would of left straight away.

What made the night even more disappointing is without doubt this had the potential to be an amazing night, I was expecting Bambuu to be rammed, and the atmosphere to be buzzing, like at most big garage events, especially given who was performing.

I have no idea as to why the night was a complete failure, maybe the promotion or maybe the venue? But I don't think it helps when the organiser doesn't turn up for his own event! I'm sure if this event had of been in Ikon-Diva, Whitehouse or O.C it would of been absolutely packed.

I felt totally embarrassed to be there, for the artists and to be from Southampton last night. At one stage I went up to PSG and apologized, saying the night was a total embarrassment, even though I had nothing to do with the organization of the event!

I hope you look at this comment as positive criticism - Bambuu was once the place to go, but it seems as now it’s the place not to! If a venue can’t get more than about 40 people on a night like this, if has to look at why its even open and how its promoting itself.

The performers last night deserved better - they are garage legends - I just hope last night (Bambuu Bar) hasn't put them off coming down to Southampton again, although I feel it would have - and if they do I certainly hope it wont be at Bambuu - its doesn't deserve them.

I turned up @ 11 and there were about 60 people inside. Thinking it cld only get better me and Mr EN-OH hung around for an hour or so until the garage legend Jason Kaye took to the decks. With PSG and Kie on the mic rippin it up u cld only feel sorry for them tht about only 5 people were actually on the dance floor! We left after tht, went to The Square but popped bk at 2ish, dead as a doh-doh...

Since the new promoters have been in it hasn't been the same. Gavin was/is a legend and worked hard for that place. It's a shame cos Bambuu is an awesome place...
