Music : Jackin House, Dirty House, Deep House and Tech House
Known to his Mum (see his top friends) as Lee Mortimer, the Sawtoothed one has been steadily making waves with his productions and DJ sets. His main aim is to inject fun, filth and funk into people’s valuable free time with an array of rowdy, rump-shaking basslines and downright raucous beats.
Having started with the humble Commodore Amiga many moons ago Lee firmly established himself as a top-notch recording artist and has had tracks and remixed on major label Island, CR2, Jesse Rose’s Front Room Recordings, Matt Tolfrey’s Leftroom Records, Jusin Long’s .dotbleep, Chris Duckenfield’s Odori and Yousef’s Carioca to name a few.
Stand out cuts include Lee’s remix of Remi Nicole’s ‘Rock N Roll’ which was heavily supported by Annie Mac on BBC Radio 1 and crossed-over when his friend heard it played at his Christmas party (see comment below)! ‘Crazy’ on .dotbleep was another biggie and was dubbed as “One of the largest tunes” at the WMC 2007 by non-other than Pete Tong on his Radio show. ‘Mush’ on Odori records was featured on Claude VonStroke’s latest ‘At The Controls CD’ and ‘When It Comes’ (Front Room Records) was on Derrick Carter’s Sessions CD on Ministry of Sound.
Lee’s roots are in the underground, sweaty clubs, late nights and Stella Artois. This motto has followed him wherever he has played including San Francisco (Temple), Belgium (Juice), Austria, London (Turnmills, 333, The Egg, The Cross, Rhythm Factory, Dex Club, Inigo, Traffik), Leeds (Back To Basics @ Rehab, My House), Oxford (Carling Academy, Zodiac) and Bristol (Motion).
Originally starting on the dancefloor as a regular punter, Lee is now resident at Oxford’s longest running house night Slide, sharing the decks once a month with the likes of James Zabiela, Paul Woolford, Layo & Bushwacka, Tom Middleton, Freeform Five, Ashley Beedle, Hybrid, Lottie, Sancho Panza and many more.
Lee he is currently concentrating his efforts into his new label called Wearhouse Music to showcase his ever-growing catalogue of tunes and sign-up some outstanding talent.
