This Saturday we welcome down End residents Layo and Bushwacka! for a first time South Coast exclusive.

The London based recording partnership have developed their own quirky blend of breakbeats, electro and dirty house over the years paying homage to their influences from the acid house underground scene towards the late eighties.

Layo’s DJing career kicked off at the age of 16 when he found himself performing at warehouse raves and the famous Clink street parties with Mr C. Soon the two would open their world renowned End nightclub and Layo would join production forces with Matthew ‘Bushwacka’ Benjamin, an engineer at Mr C’s studio.

DJing at The End’s ‘Subterrain’ alongside Darren Emerson the pair began to cement their foundations at the club and develop their partnership. Combining their tastes and influences they started to write music as Layo and Bushwacka! in the mid-nineties and released their debut ‘Low Life’ on End Recordings, the label inspired by the club. This award winning album included the singles ‘Dead Man Walking’, ‘Bad Old Good Old days’, and ‘Deep South’ and demonstrated their ability to blend complex breaks and sounds at a friendly dance floor house tempo.

Their own residency at The End, ‘All Night Long’ also became the name of their second mix album, an educational journey through electronic music similar to their live sets. Their second studio album included the classic smash ‘Love Story’ which has become a massive club favourite all over the world and inspiring several reworks.

Their diverse musical tastes have shone through in their mix albums and live performances which have received much acclaim from fellow production acts such as Basement Jaxx and Deep Dish.

The boys have imposed their unique collaborative blend of electronic dance all over Europe and the US over the years, as well as maintaining residencies at Ku, Pacha and Space in Ibiza. They continue to release music inspired by their travels on their self found label Olmeto Records.

This South Coast appearance follows the emotional closing of The End and is sure to be a memorable celebration not to be missed.
