Junk moves into the Winter London Season celebrating the Capital’s most influential and established DJ talents. Throughout the coming few months South coast clubbers can expect a real slice of London’s dance scene with some quality sets from the industry’s most sought after talents. This week we welcome monster record label Global Underground arguably one of Dance music's strongest and oldest labels. Having been founded in 1996 Global Underground quickly became the first label for high-end DJs at the time such as Sasha, Paul Oakenfold, John Digweed, Danny Tenaglia, Nick Warren, Dave Seaman and Darren Emerson symbolising the international explosion of dance music during the 1990s. Today it still remains as strong a Label representing the likes of Felix Da House Cat, Sharam, James Lavelle, Danny Howells, Nick Warren, Dubfire, Adam Freeland, Layo & Bushwacka!, Felix Da Housecat, Nick Warren, Darren Emerson and many more. Global Underground is also famous for their series of electronic music compilation albums which reflect the performances of high profile DJs in venues from around the world. The music featured is mostly Progressive House, Tech House, Techno and Electronica similar music that would be reflected on the night at Junk. The first five installments were live recorded from respective clubs, while the rest are mixed and recorded in a studio. DJing on the night will be Anil Chawla the former Turnmills resident who having exploded on the scene as a DJ to watch back in 2004, has since soared through the ranks of the music world to establish himself as one of the UK’s most hotly-tipped electronic DJ/Producers. With an exclusive former residency at Turnmills’ flagship Saturday night session, Together bringing him rave reviews and with a truck load of tracks (on labels like Global Underground and Saved) setting dance floors alight around the globe. Alongside him we welcome Jim Rivers who has had rave reviews from the likes of Dave Seaman who was quoted saying “It’s young blood like Jim Rivers that keep the scene moving forward. He’s been a real inspiration this year. A top talent”. Jim has been into dance music for as long as he can remember. Having saved his pennies for his first set of decks when he was 16, he quickly gained a reputation for his natural ability behind the turntables. With the initial response being good, a new residency at Empathy and new night Plastik its only a matter of time until Jim’s music and DJing will be making the dance world sit up and listen. This is sure to be an amazing night so get your tickets now and we'll see you raving on the dance floor!
