HIGH TIDE RUNAGROUND AFTER PARTY BANK HOLIDAY SUNDAY 25TH MAY 2008 @ ORANGE ROOMS & MONO 7.00PM – 1.00AM It’s the last time we’ll run aground until August, so we’ve pulled out all the stops to book a dj whose name is synonymous with house music. We continue our “20 years of house” theme with the man who is credited with holding the first acid house club night in the UK…ever. This dj kicked it all off in a gym Southwark in 1987, starting a trend that was to revolutionise club culture. His night, “Shoom”, became the template for nightclubs all over the country at the tail end of the Eighties and into the early Nineties. In 1988 Shoom adopted the “smiley” as its logo, which went on to become the symbol of acid house. It summed up the attitude of the people who went to these nights as they danced, smiled and hugged each other in a way that was alien to the stiff British culture. Away from the club, his residency on Kiss FM helped to spread the vibe of this new house sound. He gained such a reputation that he was poached by Radio One in the mid-Nineties, and his “Lovegroove Dance Party” show went on to become the second longest running dance show after Pete Tong’s Essential Selection. For one night only, High Tide Classics is proud to present Danny Rampling. Mono will be hosting Alive, with The Rendition – Dave Robertson and Jon Gurd playing their second only Live set. More details to follow soon. Same rules as always apply. Tide ticket holders get in for free and its 3 squid for everyone else. A wrist band gets you between venues. You know there will be a queue if you turn up late, so don’t risk it! Until then, stay classy High Tiders… Full Line Up Orange Rooms - 7.00pm - 1.00am High Tide Classics DANNY RAMPLING myspace.com Dan Reid Jason Bagley Mono 7.30pm - 1am Lower level – Alive The Rendition – LIVE (Dave Robertson and Jon Gurd) myspace.com TOM BUDDEN Upper Level – Ben Owens £3 entry (free to High Tide Ticket Holders) If you have not got a ticket for the boat get there early as it will be a very busy night!! www.myspace.com/hightideboats www.orangerooms.co.uk www.monobar.co.uk
