Do you really deserve to know?
Well, where do I start? The Brook hosted the third REVIVE night last night and I feel a sense of pity swelling in my heart for everyone that didn’t attend (that includes you big sis!) I was thinking, the cliché expression of third time lucky must fit here somewhere but the truth being there was no luck involved in the organising of this event (expect for actually finding Cranberry juice eh nickwah ! !) just a flash of pure genius.

With capacity for events like REVIVE capped at circa500 The Brook is no ‘superclub’ but once your inside and its all kicked off, the main focal point is the stage and it plays wonders on the atmosphere. Last night The Brook gave the feeling of a close sweatbox club downstairs with everyone dancing there troubles away and the upstairs balcony provided a superb view and chill out zone to rest those weary feet.

. . and I haven’t even started talking about the line up or the great mix of people that flocked to witness The Brook on top form yet again.

Before I mention what, I think, I will refer to as the “grandest finale on the south coast” I’ll say that the DJ’s (Martin Metcalf, Benzo, Craig Mcguire and Ryan James) were fantastic, may it be said I had a good workout last night on that dance floor. My brain didn’t get the chance to receive the message from my feet saying ‘enough!’ as the next tune was on and the crowd were loving it.

As far as the Artists were concerned we were teased throughout the night by the sweet, sweet sounds of AJ Lewis and the full works from Bryan Chambers; both visual and vocal heaven ! So now, onto the that finale. . . the rumours had whispered through the smokey air that there could be a sneaky performance from Beverly Knight and Bryan Chambers and at 1am we were blessed with a sublime half an hour of live performances from the whole line up, introduced by the special guest. It was so good I got one of those wicked shivers down my spine and those fine little hairs on the back of neck were on end.

So that’s it, that’s all I’ll say because if you weren’t there you don’t deserve to know what really happened! My advise, should you choose to acknowledge it, is next time make an effort to go as The Brook welcomes you with open arms and offers you an evening that you’ll never want to end.

Yes - well done Ben/Nick?Paul...one of the best I've had the pleasure of playing at.

Bryan and Beverley stole the show - but I thoroughly enjoyed Paul's set.
