Revive celebrates 2 years on......

This article is about REVIVE - THE BIRTHDAY SESSION @ The Brook in Southampton (UK), Sat 25 Nov 2006

Saturday 25th November will see Revive celebrate its 7th session in 2 years. For those of you that don’t know Revive started back on Saturday 28th November 2004 and introduced a new kind of live music event to the town. Utilising the fantastic setting and sound quality that the Brook has to offer (being the only dedicated live music venue in Southampton) Revive mixes dance music with live musicians, top quality vocalists, and local djs to provide a live dance event that is truly unique.

Revive regulars have given feedback such as “fantastic atmosphere” “friendliest crowd”, and an event that “...welcomes you with open arms and offers you an evening that you’ll never want to end. “

Highlights have been the high class of vocalist visitors to the events such as Bryan Chambers (Defected), Lisa Millet (Purple Music), Laura Vane (Soulfuric), A J Lewis (Con Brio), Steven Keith (Bossnass), Al Siesta (Russian Roulette), Krysten Cummings (Soulfuric), Nicolette Street, and who can forget the surprise visit we had from Beverley Knight in June 2005!

With the likes of Jack 'n’ Daniels (Soulfuric), Martin Metcalf (Power FM), Benzo, Jules Bena, Oli Salter, Craig McGuire (Casa Groove), Darren Crook (Cazbar), Hamish Dunn (Soulogic), Ryan James (Ritual), Luka (Junk), all having graced the decks........

Supported by sax, horns and percussion from Paul Yeung, Mike Blatchford, Miguel, Garry Wood, Mad Adam Bongo......

Saturday 25th November will see vocals supplied by Nicolette Street and Krysten Cummings who between them have co-written and performed on tracks with Hoxton Whores, Jason Herd, Jack ‘n’ Daniels and Passionador in recent years and this time around expect to hear some amazing PAs such as the smash hits from Blaze - Most Precious Love (Defected) and Timmy Vegas - Dutty Funk “We can do” (Mn2s).

The Birthday Session will also be welcoming back Jules Bena, Oli Salter and Ryan James to join resident Benzo spinning the tunes, with sax from Paul Yeung and percussion from Mad Adam Bongo.

If you have been before then I am sure we will see you there to join us and raise a glass to celebrate our birthday, if you haven’t been before then it's about time you joined the celebration!
