With very little time to wind down or re-energise before our next party, you can see why May is the messiest month of the year for us @ High Tide. You’re probably still reeling from the recent nautical adventure, but now it’s time for you to start hyping yourself up for the second of our summer instalments. Get ready for some seriously chunky sounds from DJs Paolo Mojo and James Talk.

Paolo broke onto the scene in a big way in 2001 with the release of his double mix CD, “Music Is Freedom”, and by going on to win Muzik Magazine’s Bedroom Bedlam competition. This success bought with it well earned recognition and propelled him into the ranks of the DJ elite. Now, with a string of appearances at the UK’s biggest clubs and plenty of Air Miles to his name, Mr Mojo has established himself as a firm favourite with the underground scene. His recent achievements include being invited, in 2007, to compile and mix the first digital-only compilation on major dance label, Renaissance. More recently, his own production work has been recognised by many of the top jocks, including Pete Tong, who made Nightlaw (released last month) his essential new tune.

James Talk is Southampton born and bred, but with a reputation as a dj/producer that spreads beyond our tiny shores to all corners of the globe. James’ unique talent seems to rest in fusing devastating bass grooves with twisted acid lines to produce tracks that simply send the dance floor into a frenzy. His 2008 debut album, “Walky Talky”, includes the tracks “Remote”, “Warm Milk”, and “Pass the Suntan Lotion”, all of which have been hammered by DJs in clubs up and down the country. Many of you will have already witnessed James tear it up on the floating decks in previous years. And if you haven’t yet, you should.

Whilst Paolo and James bang it out to the ravers upstairs, the deepness continues on the lower deck with a cracking line up including Chris Woodward (Buzzin’ Fly) and Loose. Chris has been a resident at Ben Watt’s (ex-Everything but the Girl) groundbreaking Buzzin’ Fly nights for the last 5 years. Their move to a bi-monthly slot at The End nightclub has confirmed their status as one of the country’s top nights out, and Chris has played a big part in this success.

Loose are Paul Crognale & Cred. These guys share a love for all things disco, and their sound reflects this with a fusion of disco and deep house. They have a heavy rep for putting on quality intimate parties around the capital, and we’re very pleased to welcome them down South for some easy Sunday groovin’ alongside Chris Woodward.

Musically this event will be one of our most diverse parties to date, and testament to the fact that we continue to seek out fresh and exciting sounds for your bank holiday entertainment. As always tickets are likely to fly out fast, so don’t put it off folks.
