Trippin Back (88-91) >> Bank Holiday Sunday May the 4th be with you >> @The Royal Hotel >> With The Original Acid House Legend Trevor Fung >> +++ The official FIDGET Reunion.
20 years ago Acid House was born and a whole generation got right on one. British culture was changed forever, as we all danced to a new beat. Let there be House, and House music was born. Coming from Chicago to the clubs, warehouses and fields of England. The movement was so powerful that it inspired the whole country to start raving. House music spread and mutated, and a whole host of other genres were spawned from this, our House. 20 years later and House is bigger and broader than ever, yet to many it remains a feeling deep within your soul, a feeling that will never ever die.

To all those who danced in the fields, who felt that joy. A feeling that the world was changing and that we were making it happen, that was a very special time. Nothing before or since can ever or will ever make you feel that way again. So let us celebrate and rejoice that we could be a part of it. Let us go Trippin back.

On Sunday May 4th at The Royal Hotel we will hear the original sound of House. We will recapture that feeling one more time. Led by the original Acid House legend Trevor Fung, a face who showed everybody the way. We have selected DJ's who were part of the scene and playing out at raves, clubs and parties at the time. DJs who selected the soundtrack of our lives.

The music in the main bar is going to be great, a real nice mix from 3 very experienced DJs.

It's shaping up to be a really good night, I've been getting lots of messages from people telling me they are coming.

The Royal Hotel, bank Holiday, 3 floor party and only a fiver on the door, it's a no brainer really.

A couple of gems I would wish for in the main room would be Acid Trax by Phuture (21 years old and still as fresh as the day it was made) and Sterling Void's - Its Alright (a 20 year old anthem). Oi oi bring it on. Plenty people I know going It could be one to remember.

Acid Trax by Phuture (21 years old and still as fresh as the day it was made) and Sterling Void's - Its Alright

Both classics. Acid Trax was the tune that started it all, the first tune to use a 303.
It's alright was an anthem.

I hope to hear the minute men 'Ok, Alright' and the original 'Salsa House' which I think was Richie Rich.

As for the pirates the best of the bunch was centreforce for me.
I remember being turned back by the old bill from a rave in East London and the whole of the A13 was gridlocked with ravers. Everybody tuned in to Centreforce and got out of their cars and started dancing in the middle of the road.

That could of been Raindance at Jenkins Lane before it got a permit. I didn't go but heard about it.
Centreforce was back on very recently on 88.4 however it has disappeared again, shame all the old crew were banging the tunes - Kenny Ken, Randall etc.

This would have been about 1990. We all met at the Circus Tavern and went from there, the police shut off the exit at the roundabout so everybody went back to the Tavern and turned round again.

Funny cos we ended up having a nightmare of a night and never did get to the party. but that night still stands out in my memory as one of the defining moments of my experience of rave culture. I remember this old couple caught up in the jam, they looked totally bewildered as all these long haired loons jumped around all over the road.
