Trippin Back (88-91) >> Bank Holiday Sunday May the 4th be with you >> @The Royal Hotel >> With The Original Acid House Legend Trevor Fung >> +++ The official FIDGET Reunion.
20 years ago Acid House was born and a whole generation got right on one. British culture was changed forever, as we all danced to a new beat. Let there be House, and House music was born. Coming from Chicago to the clubs, warehouses and fields of England. The movement was so powerful that it inspired the whole country to start raving. House music spread and mutated, and a whole host of other genres were spawned from this, our House. 20 years later and House is bigger and broader than ever, yet to many it remains a feeling deep within your soul, a feeling that will never ever die.

To all those who danced in the fields, who felt that joy. A feeling that the world was changing and that we were making it happen, that was a very special time. Nothing before or since can ever or will ever make you feel that way again. So let us celebrate and rejoice that we could be a part of it. Let us go Trippin back.

On Sunday May 4th at The Royal Hotel we will hear the original sound of House. We will recapture that feeling one more time. Led by the original Acid House legend Trevor Fung, a face who showed everybody the way. We have selected DJ's who were part of the scene and playing out at raves, clubs and parties at the time. DJs who selected the soundtrack of our lives.

It's all coming together nicely, sound and lighting will be the bizznizz.

Loads of old faces coming out of the woodwork as well as plenty of Acid House curious younger ones.

It's looking like being a roadblock.

Nice one Mr Zorro I will be up and down those stairs a few times I reckon - so if this is to be a Fidget pre-summer party does that mean you may be holding some bangin summer parties ! COOps your experiences of that era sound similar to ours but what a load of fun ended up once with Winchester old bill showing us the way out of town and onto the party even they had some fun sometimes.

It was funny because the old bill were really friendly before the press started their anti rave campaign, then it all changed and they got really nasty. I remember all the amateur lawyers taking the old bills badge numbers because they were refusing us right of access. But in the really early days they used to give directions and have a laugh with us.

NEWS FLASH: we have just this min confirmed that we are proud to announce that we will be getting in a brand new mackie sound system for the fidget room. i have just been told by my co partner in fidget that 8 years ago this week fidget was born. fuck me it seems longer, and more importently none of it would have been possible without YOU LOT! so as a thank you i will be digging deep and getting a sound that even tubbys would be proud of. not sure what the limit of sound im aloud to bring, so ive ordered a nice new 10k rig, not the active setup, the real mackie sound.( Direct from mackie uk)
so yes this event is indeed getting better by the day. dont miss out on this, theres lots going on next weekend, but how many of them have got the line up and extras we have.
lets make southend history again people, the time has come when we are not going to put up with sterilised club nights anymore, fidget is going to give you a taste of what kept the warehouse parties alive for more then 2 decades !! Lets all help make this happen again in southend.

bring on the smiley faces

I've got an original smiley T-shirt bought from Camden market in 1988. It was the biggest and baggiest T-shirt in the world. I tried it on recently and it was a snug fit. Not sure what happened, I guess it must have shrunk a bit over time.
