GLOBAL GATHERING UNAFFECTED BY RECENT WEATHER
Festival preparations continue as normal

We don't care what the weathermen say...

Well as we are sure you are all aware, the weather in the UK has been less than perfect, with Friday's floods causing untold havoc across the UK and our hearts go out to all affected.  Stratford upon Avon has been a hive of media excitement with helicopters and film crews surveying the floods, but we are pleased to inform you that Global Gathering is in fact based 5 miles out of Stratford upon Avon at Long Marston Airfield. Thankfully the site has been completely unaffected by the floods and as airfields are not built on flood plains everything is looking great for this weekend!

Being local Stratford residents ourselves we can safely inform you that as quickly as the flood waters rose they are now subsiding leaving transport links unaffected and moving smoothly so Global Gathering looks set to be yet another record breaking fabulous weekend!

On behalf of all Stratford businesses we would like to take the time to say that the media invasion has been over hyped and the surrounding areas have been affected worse than the historical tourist attraction of Stratford upon Avon.

Stratford town centre has been open and running for business over the entire weekend with minimal disruption apart from the scaremongering from the media. Thanks Sky News.....and the idiot who called the BBC to say Global Gathering was cancelled...it is NOT and will go ahead as planned.

The event headliners Faithless and Basement Jaxx alongside 150 of the biggest and best DJ talent on the planet are all geared up for the festival event of the Summer. One of the festival organisers, James Algate says, “We are once again expecting over 50,000 people to have the weekend of their lives. We also wish to reassure ticketholders that after being on site for the past week, the airfield and traffic routes are totally unaffected by the recent floods. Despite bad weather our customers have already been calling into the office saying that they are determined to enjoy the weekend and that really shows the affection the ticket holders have for the biggest dance event in the world. Those that have been spreading erroneous rumours should find something more constructive to do with their time...perhaps helping the people that have actually been affected by the weather!"

For once i agree listening to my mum was a good idea! she insisted i took wellies & ignored the "its all nice n dry" idea nice little money maker on the wellies tho haha

bet the tent industry is wondering why profits have gone up since the end of July

reading the article again, i dont think it was lies - the site wasn't affected by floods (was it :S) im guessing it was the rainfall that caused the "issues" - why not say its rained a lot the sites a bit boggy (surely anyone would expect 50000 people walking through the tiny campsite entrance to transform it 2 a mud pit??? ) wear suitable clothing - in those conditions get ya wellies out! this was my 1st global & my last weekend with my bf - we would still have been there mud or no mud
