A bit gutted that I couldn't find the Circo Loco stage until really late Saturday evening by which time the clouds had arrived and any Ibiza vibe that may have been present was gone.

No wonder you didn't find it earlier- Circo Loco wern't provided with a friggin generator until Saturday night- im bloody fuming as that was one my main reasons for goin!

Er.... Actually, since 2006 Global Gathering is a JOINT venture between Angel Music Group and Live Nation - the world's largest live music company and the second-largest entertainment venue management company. It's US (of course) and revenue equates to $4 BILLION!!

All in all I thought it was a well organised event.

What are you on Adam? Cloud9 Ahem?

Have you ever tried to organise a large event. It's not f'kin easy you know and to have people complaining so much. Just get involved and enjoy yourselves. I accept the sound levels in certain arenas could've been better. I guess I'm just more of a "my glass is half full" kind of person.

They can't do anything about rain or wind

No one is complaining about the weather, read the thread.

If you read my post you would realise that I was blaming the wind for the low volume levels for the mid range frequencies on the main stage. The one addition required for next year would most definitely be a Deuce Soundsystem outdoor stage.

Well there's a surprise!!

What's wrong with having a goal in life and to push for it to make it happen. I'd love to have our system at Global Gathering. What's your problem SimCard?

The problem is you've hijacked the thread to Spam it with your sound system guff.

Yeah I have, only International exhibitions, so nothing minor - you know arranging logistics, hotels, flights, passes and all that malarkey. It's best to concentrate on the punters and go from there - I'll bet none of the stars would have got their feet mucky!

I think the complaints are mostly because other events seem to have the basics better organised. Though I'm told it hadn't really ever rained at GG before! Just why do people seem so willing to accept dross??

IT'S THEIR FUCKING JOB!!!!

and to have people complaining so much

Why the hell not? It's our money which pays for the event. Just because the majority of people are happy to settle for second best all the time doesn't mean that the rest of us have to follow suit. The British public are too fucking complacement - I'd rather be someone who has an opinion and voices it, especially when it comes to spending hundreds of pounds of my hard earned cash!!

Though I'm told it hadn't really ever rained at GG before!

2003 anyone??

Just why are people seem so willing to accept dross??

EXACTLY!

I enjoyed it and WILL go back, BUT, and it's a big 'un...

* Getting in on Fri was a JOKE! Thought it opened at 10am?!

* No effort to make path ways thru campsite.

* Cars were broken into Fri night - smashed windows... :(

* We were forced to park about a MILE away and lugged all our stuff only to spend 2 hours queuing to get in... why can't there we more than ONE fookin entrance! JOKE! CAR parking shud be nearer for campers!

* It wud have been nice to have ppl giving u guidance on how to get in - it was disorientating.

* TOILETS were a disgrace on campsite!!! There really needed to be more! It's ok for the boys who can piss anywhere! Thank God for 'Travel Johns'!

* Sound was TOO low.

* Why the fuck were we kicked off campsite SO EARLY?! IT was supposed to be 'til afternoon/early Evening!

LOL! Feel better now!

* And no Mixmag Terrace on Fri night. :(

Enjoyed it in the end tho!

I think you are being rather petty. It's hardly spam. 3 photos. Did I put contact details or anything. No! It was more a tongue in cheek off the cuff remark. Jesus!

Yeah cuz they take place in fields that have been constantly rained on for 2 months. All I'm saying is events like this are not easy to organise and when the weather is against you things fuck up. I heard that most crew members didn't get any sleep for 3 days as the weather had put everything behind schedule. I have nothing to do with Global and I've been to loads of events like this over the past 10 years. I didn't feel that this was any better or worse than other such events. Some people will always have personal tales of woe from a large event. After all there were over 50000 people. I had a great time. Lots of people had a great time. Unfortunately some people didn't. It's a shame.

I agree with you there hun, and also I think sum peeps just go pessimistic & look for all the bad things. We all knew it had rained for months therefore expectations of the ground & stuff were'nt that high, people who expected flooring in the tents etc were just setting themselves up for a dissapointment. In any of the forums before the event, we were not promised flooring, neither seating, which again is a hyperthetical moaning point. Its a dance event, you dance, if you wanna sit you take bin bags ready to crash on the floor wherever you can find a spot, you can't expect the organisers to cater for all the peeps who wanted to sit down as it was a wet event. Moaning about the loos is funny, it makes me laugh, if anything that should be directed at fellow human folk who use them, soil them cba to flush the loos & leave them in such a state for the next person.. and so on & so on.

I loved global, had a ball & Like i'v said before its what you make it at the the end of the day.

Has James Algate admitted he lied to the bbc about the queuing, it was a laughable quote. I put my mate Helen in the queue at 12 and she got in at 5pm. luckily I had VIP so I didnt have to queue. But 5 hours!!!! the best bit was we saw him on his bike patrollling up nd down so he could see how long the queue was. Also I felt the lack of walk ways were really unsafe but apart from that I had a wicked time!

It's called objectivity not being blind and blinkered to the truth. Most of the 26 pages on the other thread tell you something went seriously wrong. This was not just an Act of God but also of Godskitchen.

We all knew it had rained for months therefore expectations of the ground & stuff were'nt that high,You can't have it both ways - The organisers also knew and should have done more. If it had been an unexpected Flash Flood in the middle of say last Summer then fingers wouldn't be pointed.

I make no comment on GG's sound systems. There were parts I personally enjoyed and parts I patently did not. I would have rather had less big names and better facilities provided. Some of the "big name dj's" were a big let down with 3 being good and 1 act very good imo.
