Anyone fancy a flash mob this Saturday?
o mark the build up to Global Gathering, Britain's biggest electronic music extravaganza,we're hosting a party in central Birmingham to let everyone know what we've got lined up for this years event! On Saturday June 27th at 2.00pm Birmingham town centre will become Funkytown centre as we lead the party parade through the city streets and spread some of that Global goodness to the masses. But keep quiet about it... literally, because we're having a Silent Rave! Yes, to avoid interference from council killjoys and the melophobic we're holding a rave in the middle of the day in dead silence, and what's more the Global Gathering media crew will be on hand to record the craziness and broadcast it to the watching world via the Global Gathering website. You'll be able to spend the afternoon in town joining in the fun and then you can go home and show all your housemates just what you've been up to on the worldwide interweb net - how cool is that?!?

Leading the march of madness will be resident silent DJ Paul van Quiet with his portable hardcore-jumble-techno-roadshow-disco, and his much over-worked silent roadies will also be on hand to explain the route and give out the goodies we've got for you! To help get your feet moving, we've also got a troupe of roadies who'll be leading the way and showing the rhythymically challenged how it's done (that's me then!) and demonstrating the specially commmissioned, unique 'global step' - the new dance move that consists of shaking your stuff to a imaginary music we're pioneering and that's sure to set dancefloors alight around the country! (Disclaimer: Dance routine may not set dancefloors alight across country. Global acknowledge no liability for injuries or fatalities that occur while performing the 'global step'. Please dance responsibly.)

The procession will start at 2pm in Victoria Square in central Birmingham, and to make sure we're all singing from the same hymn sheet, as it were, we'll have a supply of Global Gathering t-shirts to give away to anyone who joins in - the more the merrier! So come on down this Saturday, take your first step toward Global Gathering and join in the flashmob festivities: good weather, good times, good fun! See you there, front row centre with a big grin and a Global t-shirt!
