Music : Electro and Drum and Bass
Thx to everyone who came down to the last event. Massive thx to both Kenny and Chase & Status... wicked sets all round. Will try and get some audio up asap! Next one will be an all Midlands mash-up: August 15th HAZARD (Ganja Records) ARIES (CoLab Recordings) CAUTION (:stimulus:) D-VICE (Kunninmindz / Whiplash) TEKSTEPPA (Whiplash / Triple Sicks) MCs: MESSY MC (EZ Rollers Live) ALGAR (:stimulus: / Kinetic) DODDZY (Whiplash) HAZARD::There are few artists who can claim to have shot to Drum & Bass fame as quickly, or as succinctly as Birmingham based DJ Hazard. In just a few short years this incredibly talented producer has knocked out enough dancefloor bombs to be considered a serious sonic terrorist, adding to the noise pollution problems of neighbourhoods around the world with his uncompromisingly tight beats and earth-quaking basslines. Originally noticed by D&B legend DJ Hype while producing a few tracks for DJ SS’ Formation Records, Hazard was soon snapped up by the Playaz boss once he realised the young Birmingham based talent wasn’t under contract. There began a partnership that has rocketed DJ Hazard to the very top of his game, both in terms of producing immense dancefloor destroying tracks that eager DJs clamour to get their hands on during promo stage, and his own career as a DJ which has seen him travel the globe, doling out masses of bass-fuelled pain to unsuspecting ravers worldwide. ARIES::Aries (aka The Goat) has been into rave music since 1991. After being involved in the early nineties pirate radio station scene it was through promoting with friends "Lifted" in 1996 that his dj career really started to take off. Benny + Aries have been residents for Autumn (formerly Prosession, now Break Thru) in Birmingham since 2000, Aries promotes his own event with friend Solution 'Above & Beyond' and are regulars on the midlands dj circuit playing all of the main nights in the area including Atomic Jam, Flashback and Accelerated Culture. Aries has been producing music for just over a decade but more seriously over the past 4 years. He takes his core influences from Roots and Dub Reggae which will come as no surprise if you listen to his music. His first outing on vinyl was in April 2005 on Co-Lab Recordings (owned by dj partner Benny + Heist) with the heavily supported "Herbsmoke" which was championed by Bailey and even made it onto the daytime playlist of BBC's 1XTRA. It was around this time that Shy Fx became aware of his music and asked for a promo of Herbsmoke. The link was forged and the next two pieces of music that were completed "Ala Ala Bama" and "Smokers Delight" (with Brothers Bud) were snapped up for Digital Soundboy. Also about on vinyl is "Nuff Reggae Music" on Visionary's Lion Dubs label. System provided by CLEARSOUND :) Room2 will be called SIN and is hosted by M.A.S.I.M.A. Expect a night of filthy electro provided by djs Mark Ward, Simon Nicholas and Mark Hincks.
