Music : Electro House, Dirty House, Electro, Big Beat, Breaks, Minimal Techno and Electro Techno
This is a morning event (e.g. starts early - see below for times).

Janette Slack
She’s a Mixmag future hero, she’s just won London’s prestigious Denon DJousts competition, been nominated for ‘Best Breakthrough DJ’ at the International Breakbeat Awards, she’s just secured a residency at Torture Garden and Air, and she’s finally cracked a kickflip ollie. Break out the cocktails ladies and gentlemen because JANETTE SLACK HAS ARRIVED.
“Top electro/breakbeat gal” – DJ Mag
BLOOD SWEAT AND TEARS
It’s been a harsh few years for Janette, tunneling at the coalface of professional DJing, production and remixing. With hordes of hungry jocks roaming the streets, competition drove her close to starvation. But now that’s all behind her and she plays in gorgeous opulent clubs the world over. Janette has the UK breaks and electro scene by its hairy balls and rides around London in a gold-plated beach lounger pulled by a team of pedigree swans.
“One of the hottest new talents on the dance scene ” – Ministry of Sound
THE EARLY YEARS
By an accident of birth and empire Janette found herself growing up in Hong Kong, so her first conquest was the clubland of the far east. Her earliest influence was the industrial scene, but by 19 she was deep into breaks. Thanks to instinctive skill behind the decks she quickly nailed residencies in her home city and started traveling as far afield as Australia and the US.
“Future Hero” – Mixmag
RAINY STREETS OF LONDON
Being an international DJ before she hit her 20s seemed all too easy, so Janette nailed her production credentials with a diploma from the School of Audio Engineering (SAE) – "Two years of knowledge crammed into nine months". As a qualified teacher, she gave time to community music projects to under privileged kids, and then took on the cold wet task of making it in the UK. She soon knew the dance and club industry inside out, mastering everything from working in coat checks and record stores to running studios, recording bands, running labels, even producing fashion shows and directing photo shoots!
“One to watch” – One Week To Live
Woss she sound like?
Like any great DJ, Janette lives for the music she loves and covers a lot of ground to create a genuine signature style. Sharp taste brings sexy, rolling breaks to meet energetic techy electro house with a progressive edge. And when she fires up Logic her studio career and musical experience means she’s far more than a mere bedroom producer.
“A rising star, great character ” – Ali B / Air
PLUS Glamour, dahlink
Fair of face and large of boot, Janette is apt to lamp anyone who comments on her looks, but that didn’t stop her turning beauty into dollars along the way with a spot of modelling (Vauxhall Cars, Pepsi, Theme), and music videos (Ms Dynamite, Lisa Mafia, Dab Hands, Future Funk Squad...). She took a starring role in Doug Pray’s Dr. Marten documentary ‘Veer’, playing a feisty and unstoppable London DJ called Janette Slack. "I totally fitted the criteria of a struggling artist."
“A talented upcoming producer” – Hybrid
FAME AT LAST
Long-running residencies at London’s breaks/electro/progressive temples such as Platform 12 and Ali B's Air. Press coverage in US Sports Illustrated and Fader Magazine, UK DJ Mag and Mixmag, to TV shows and front covers of newpapers in Croatia. DJ appearances at Fabric, Torture Garden, Ministry Of Sound, festivals sets including Hi:Fi, Global Gathering and Electric Gardens. These days Janette burns up the jetstreams with an international touring schedule that would put most DJs to shame.
“A hot ball of energy ” – Soul of Man / Fingerlickin
