Yeah, but *where* do I find out about these? I only know of L2 and CornExchange websites.

Plus the uni is quite local :-)

Well - not a dig at anyone, but if people listed events on here, that'd be sweet.

There are lot of places kicking things off but with little covereage.

Luckily, there is a lot more coverage of events now, but not enough listings.

L2 (Truro), Corn Exchange (Camborne), Barracuda (Newquay) and plenty of other places tend to have the bigger names for DJ's in the various dance genre's.
Bar200 (Truro) has been laying down the breaks lately courtesy of Bassfunk (Mr Front-Of-House listed above). There's tonnes of shit going on in Cornwall - nice as it would be to list it all, there is a lot going on to be monitoring it all.

Never shy of a night out in Foulmouth area, especially with classy joings like Remedies (Remedials) and Club I.......

Ok, so that was sarcastic, but Falmouth has a lot for different tastes and everything is a train/bus ride away.
Plymouth is about 1:30 from Falmouth for wide choice of stomp, but always keep an ear to the ground and you'll have an idea of what's on the go!

Falmouth's own Uni have a site called the Stannery (20 mins max from Fal town), artists such as DJ Yoda, The Scratch Perverts, Mr Scruff and Dizzee Rascal have played in the past; more recently, Quantic Soul Orchestra, The Trophy Twins (again, Mr Front-of-House) and others have played.

Anyhow, drunks rants - enjoy it all!

Cheers!

Thanks for that, I'll check these places out. Yes, it's a real shame people don't list these events. They must be losing lots of potential customers.

Ha ha, for a moment then I thought you were serious!! The only good night I've had in Falmouth was a techno night last spring. About 10 people came, and it soon died a death :-(

Missing the weekly Tranzaction at L2 :-(

Well, Foulmouth is full of students and cheap cider, so it's pretty easy to find a good time.

Going out on a lime (sure I'll get shot down in flames...), Falmouth town itself hosts a number of live bands throughout the week ranging from rock to hip-hop to folk.

It probably won't take long to settle on a local and you'll have the town sussed in about a day at most.
I am uncertain if it is still going at the moment, but the legend that is Jelly Jazz *might* have a spot on Thursdays near Gillingvase (unsure of spelling) beach. That always leads to much fun in my experience.

The Uni block is called 'The Stannery'. A few mins away in neighbouring Penryn.
Promotions crews such as SW1 Productons and Hold it Down hold events there with likes of the Magic Numbers, Squarepusher, Lemon Jelly and The Scratch Perverts having played in the past.

Princess Pavillions in Falmouth has had some events by those above and also by Front of House, having had the cream of the Cornish rock scene together recently.
Local promotions outfits Bassfunk and Choice are getting it together with funky nights in Truro and Newquay.

Anyhow, that's the extent of what I know - the rest is up to you ;)

Thanks Simon, I'll check out those links too. I actually know Falmouth well, as I'm there a lot. But being that bit older, and on my own, I've never managed to suss where the real action is - it tends to move around, and I'm always one step behind! To be honest I gave up on Falmouth after Paradox went down the pan, and went to Tranzaction at Truro instead, which is more my scene anyway. But now that's gone, and I was looking for somewhere I could go every weekend for a good hard stomp.

Clubbing information on the web is so damn patchy, and it's difficult on 9600baud dialup 'cos the websites are usually too bloated. I ought to get a better laptop I suppose! But I spend all my money clubbing instead :-(

Last time I went to an event at Gyllingvase Beach, no-one turned up! It'll probably get better in the summer.

Anyway, thanks for the information. I can have a dig around and follow links etc.

To be honest, try PM'ing the girls in the photo (if you haven't already).

I'm just a blabber and not really into the rave scene so much. More of a DnB/Breaks/Electronica/Rock head really.

I think the harder stomps are to be found in Plymouth but that's more so likely because I don't follow the scene.

Not sure if Tall Tree's still does their hard music, might want to check their site....Tall Trees

Good idea. I believe Tranzaction are doing one at Tall Trees soon.

You've given me plenty to go on. Just need to get on top of this damned DSI inbox first!!

My eyes are going yellow :-)

Was that aimed at me? If so, thanks but I'm already a Tranzaction fan :-) Can't get there every month though, cos I'm often out of the area.
