FARMAGEDDON
This event is held in a secret location in Warrington and is organized by Fiona Perrin and Ste. The event originally started about four years ago with only a small group of people, a two-man tent, two Soundlab Turntables and a Soundlab mixer…
To date the crowd is getting bigger and there is now three Technics turntables, two CDJ1000 CD decks, a selection of mixers including a pioneer DJM600, two Aiwa Hi-fi's with six speakers pumpin out about 800 watts, a KP2, a sound affects panel which has been named the ‘Flux Capacitor’ and plenty of visual affects. The main arena has been named The Mixmag arena where the main DJ booth can be found. There is a swimming pool on site just in case anyone wants to cool down in the hot summer sun or they’ve basically been dancing like a lunatic a need a good wash. There is a BBQ on site just in case anyone gets hungry (which rarely happens!) and there is also a huge bonfire that burns constantly throughout the weekend thanks to a woodpile bigger than Ben Nevis! This event really is up there with the big UK festivals like Global and Creamfields and who knows one day it could be the biggest UK event of the summer!
(06/08/05) The First Event Experience: Before we new it the party was in full swing and we were putting our chemical endurance to the test. As ever the DJ sets were excellent, sets that even the gods of DJ heaven would be proud of! Including a four-hour set by me, which felt more like four minutes! What a start to the weekend! As Bob Marley once said, "the wood burned through the night" which took those still standing through the long awaited journey...
(06/08/05) Saturday night fever: It sends a shiver down your spine, it’s arrived and you’re in your favourite club with your friends and there are no boundaries, only those between us and the horses! Yes the fire is still burnin, "Bob Marley will be proud" Once again the sets are excellent with some fantastic trickery and outstanding Technics, sorry techniques, shown by all who were willing! *1st Prize* for best set of the night went to Fiona (random-bird) playing an excellent choice of soul searching trance tunes which were perfectly mixed, with Ste and Nick coming in a close 'joint' 2nd and the scariest set went to James, I was quivering in my muddy boots!
The morning arrived with not a cloud in sight, the sun was beating down on us, we chilled out whilst listening to some harder and harder techno tunes to destroy the last ounce of energy we had left.
This brings us to the end of FARMAGEDDON weekender (1) but it’s only the beginning!
