FIRESKY 'THE 2nd COMING' REVIEW!!!

MNKY-AND-RYKI	Its now Wednesday and I think I've just about recovered from Sunday nights antics! Personally, I have to say that this was the best event I have ever been involved with and I was well proud to see everything go 'nearly' (nothing is ever perfect!) according to plan on the night itself! We had over 300 people pass through the door on a wet and windy sunday evening and to see you all wanting more at 4am for my photo simply made my night!!! Anyways, heres a brief story board! Jon The Baptist kicks things off Jon The Baptist and Weymouths regular Welsh nut job, Chuck-E, kicked off proceedings at 10pm and got things off to a blistering start with some phat hard trance. The extra speakers in the DJ booth was sounding crisp as you like which was great to hear considering the recent audio problems at previous events we have held at the venue! :D The early bird crew Iain Cross was up next on the decks and Shocker had arrived by now. Iain continued with the hard trance sound from where Jon and Chuck left off and Shocker rallied up the troops for some stompin action to get under way! Iain lets us know what his favourite coloured glowstick is Our international guest of the evening, Dave Joy, was up next and this is when things started going a little 'non perfect' for the Firesky crew!!! lol Dave Joy with his trademark cap! Dave Joy took to the decks and I remember him playing the Blutonium Boy remix of Chris & Matt Kidds 'Control' aswell as Technikals remix or 'Your My Angel'. But my focus was on the sound system as we had a few technical problems with some dodgey leads! lol! A quick wire swop during his set (oops!) and things were back the way the should be, live & loud!!!! Chuck & Shocker disapprove of the nasty sound system! Birthday Boy Phatt Boy opened up proceedings downstairs at 12 in the alternative room. I popped down to hear Organ Donors 'Twisted Drugs'!!! Rather Large Man aka Phatt Boy spinning the toons! McCake knows how to rock! Cally & Juice were due on at 1am but were slighty delayed as they had a previous gig in Derby so next up were Brian M vs McBunn. I didnt here any of their set as I was playing downstairs myself. :( Some lovely Ladies I finished my set downstairs to go check out Cally & Juice who had now managed to arrive and where in full throttle on the decks! us late? Never! I say it everytime and I'll say it now! They are the best djing duo I've ever witnessed!!!!!! They never let me down and they didnt on sunday either! The dancefloor was rockin!! A few teething problems with vibrations and a heavy speaker resulted in a brief bit of madness but all was calm and good once my knee was firmly wedged in place (dont ask!). It made things more interesting to say the least tho! lol Wheres Hixxy? :S 3am was approaching quick and our headliner for the evening was yet to appear! A quick phone call to see where he was and he just magically turns up on the door! lol! We quickly whisked him up to the stairs where he was greeted with the chants of 'hixxy hixxy hixxy'!!!! Hixxys Hardcore Til He Dies! I missed all of the 'last hour of power' as I was busy attending to other things but I managed to get down in time to grab the obligatory 4am crew photo shot!!!!!! Who wants one more?! I was pretty pissed by now and cant even remember what his last tune was but when the lights went up and the music stopped I could see alot of happy faces!! :D Hixxy was then greeted with a barrage of posters and pens for him to sign which he kindly did before shooting off to his next gig in London. Hixxy greets some fans By 4.30 the last raver had trickled out and the Firesky crew had time to reflect on the nights madness! I would like to say thanks to Jon, Lamps, Darren, Corbz, Dan & Dezzi for their efforts in making this happen! Also to all the other people who chipped in with the help, who know who you are! :D Our next event is pencilled in for the next bank holiday sunday which is in August! Thats plenty of time to rest your Firesky legs! PHATT-BOY	AGREED ............. was one of the best nights of my life...... the buzz of putting on parties for other people and then seeing it go right off is one of the best buzzes i have ever experienced ..... roll on the next one !!!!!!!!!
