Saturday 23rd Febuary,Is the Date Irland's Number 1 hardstyle dj/producer Dj L.E.D! makes his southwest debut! @ The Highly antisapated event... RESISTANCE - FUTURE IS NOW - EVENT 2 @ The Lounge Night Club,Dorchester,Southwest! In the build up to Resistance massive second event we Take a time out to ask some questions with the scratch master himself... MR L.E.D!

Q.) Now i know that your DJing roots Go as far out as Cyprus, can you tell us more about how you got into DJing? Where was your first gig? And how it all came about?

My first gig ever was with my dad lol – doing an under18s disco in my home town – my first ever dance gig was in a small pub in a twon called antrim in northern Ireland called the old rogue about 17 years ago now – its no longer their either.

Q.) insperation... what dj/acts did u look upto? who gave u that energy at a young age to carve out the skillz that u bring into your sets today?

There has been a hell of allot thru the years – but one thing that always sticks out for me in any dj is technical ability and playing to the crowd as im a big believer in the fact that you as a dj are there to entertain the crowd and give them the best possible night out you can – not that the crowd has come to see you. So many names that stand out for me would be Eddie hallwell – Cally & juice – Kutski – daniel mondello - Eric morillo – James Zabelia – even going back to the hardcore days charlie lownoise – dj Sy to name but a few

Q.) It seems you got into djin as a teenager... But when did u start to produce? what was your first track?

I actually only started producuing 3 years ago - first few tracks were not up to scratch atall but I got a few pointers from a few people kept at it and within 2/3 months started putting out remixes for my sets that I was really happy with – my first ever track believe it or not has been the most popular still today - & that was me re edit of voodoo people

Q.) most tracks from yourself are on l.e.d recordings label... is this your label? How are things goin there?

Amazingly well – it is my label but is only for my own original work when I get the time to get into the studio and work on something original that is.

One of the tracks off it – The creator was signed by anne savage last year for harder faster louder – was well chuffed with that..

Q.) Do you see yourself as a producer that happens to DJ or a DJ that also produces?

Im deffinately a dj that produces– I don’t really see myself as an out and out producer and never will – I edit tracks for mysets – I don’t make tracks just to put on the shelves as most of the tracks just start out as set re-edits.

Q.) You for one have seen many producers come & go in the hardtrance & hardstyle seen? who would be your favourite all time producer? & who is doin it for u atm?

Anologic disturbance – cally & juice – Brian m & Mcbunn – Zany - Technoboy – DBD – Donkey Rollers – Showtek – Walt are some of my favourite producers. My sets are usually 90% all my own re-edits and work so I don’t normally get the chance to drop in something from someone else that I haven’t added my own taste to it

Q.) Talkin on other producers any in particular you would like to share & create ideas with in the studio?

I sorta have my own sound that im happy with right now but im always open for new ideas as two heads are always better than one but its something I haven’t really thought about if im being honest. But in saying that im currently working with the mighty Steve hill on a project or two .. watch this space

Q.) 2007 Big Year for L.E.D... What can we expect for 2008? many trips to the studio booked in? Trips back to the uk Lined up?

2008 well im already in the uk 2/3 times already for the first six months of 2008 – I have the hardcore weekender coming up – Bionic – Breathe – Subzero – Frequency – away to IBIZA & a special bank holiday event in may from what I can remember off the top of my head – I keep my diary online on my bebo page which is at http://www.bebo.com/L-E-D-

2008 is already shaping up to be a hell of allot of fun & very very hectic I have allot of debuts already at events I only dreamed of playing in the past and its gonna be one busy busy time lol – but I fuckin love it

Q.) Havin Played all over the uk & europe! Playin Events such as Frantic, west fest, bionic to name a few witch events/venues stand out for you?

Would it be mad to say them all lol – westfest 2006 Bionic Arena is one of the most memorable gigs to date as to be given the closing set in any event is a hell of a compliment but to be given the end set after cally & juice – Techoboy & Zany among others I was rather shitting myself ha ha as this was my first play in the UK at an event that size . But I loved every minute of it and from what I could see so did the crowd it was a hell of a party and ai got a couple of wicked comments one from mr CALLY who said well done niall they loved it and you kept them there right till the end – was well chuffed with that.

Every time I play Bionic in Cardiff it blows me away – its very similar to our own night in Ireland called Concept the atmosphere in both events are off the hook.

And more recently playing frantic on NYE was amazing I was blown away by the response I got as the guys on before me were playing allot of Hard house bounce & it was going right off for them I thought I wouldn’t go down well atall but the reaction to the set was unreal!

Q.) Obviously known for your hard trance/hardstyle & fast beats, what other styles of music do you have an interest in?

I listen to everything right across the board as I get inspiration from allot of different music styles – I like a bit of dr dre & I think Eminem is a lyrical genius – ill bet that boy could come up with a hook or two for a hardstyle track lol.

Q.) Best & worst moment's?

Best moment – far far to many to mention man – every time I get behind the decks these days I just love it the response at each gig is just unreal at the moment

Worst moment – my debut @ escape in Swansea on a mixer I never used before and turning the bloody volume down on the master while still listening to the monitor thinking everything was cool – lol good times

Q.) Come 23rd February This will Be your Southwest debut am I rite? Do u know much on the southwest seen? Are you looking forward to Resistance?

Your right it is my southwest debut

I have heard allot about resistance from a few friends so yeah im up for a hell of a laugh. I don’t know much about the area atall if im honest but theres only one way to find out and that’s to stomp it down with you guys good n proper I cant bloody wait for it

Q.) Finally any last words before u touch down in the southwest for resistance?

Yeah would just like to give a big shout out to everyone I have met in the scene a hell of allot of good people out there and a big lotta love to me darling wife !! Cant wait to Smash it!

Thanks for the interview.u can catch L.E.D at Resistance @ the Lounge,dorchester... saturday 23rd
