Pissed off campers?
Anyone else camping at Sanctuary pissed off about the complete lack of facilities available during the day on Saturday?

I've been to many a festival, and never before have I seen such poor catering facilities and nothing available in terms of rides/activities for campers until the music started. Queues for the burger van were obscene, because there was only the one van open till quite late in the day; they'd run out of coffee by about 10am; and there was nothing to do until the festival site opened except stay in tents or hang out in the one (crowded) bar.

In the past I've seen rides in the campsite running from mid-morning, a selection of food and drink options, a dedicated (and covered) tea tent, and campers allowed into the festival site an hour before music starts to allow them to explore and play on the rides.

The promised outdoor cinema never appeared, the bungee jump wasn't there (the slingshot is a different ride from the one pictured on the festival site), and the 'additional activities' hinted at on the website never turned up.

I'm going to be writing to Slammin Vinyl to complain, but before I did I wanted to see if anyone else felt let down by the organisers in terms of camping facilities/entertainment, or if it was just me and my friends.

Time of my life at this event. 2 days of great music and cheap car park drinking for the days, all spent in the best possible company. Really well organised to, respect to Slammin.

I had the best weekend ever! although i think SV could have done just a bit more, as we all new what the weather was going to be like! as if the weather was bad enough..
the music didnt start till an hour after the set time,
-they could have put more hay down on the outside stage,
- then when that girl collapsed in the hardcore tent the security didnt know what was going on and was quite a while till they showed up! the girl was ok after but when someone collapses in a tent u dont want people fannying around looking for em
- and they deffo need more entertainment in the day even though i had a good laugh in the campsite because it was raining, all we could do really was sit in the tents

nut overall ive never buzzed as much as i did that w.e and bigup to all u ravers :d i didnt see 1 miserable person that weekend :D and everyone was stomping away in the hardcore tents even if they were getting coverd in mud..

il deffo be at the next one anyway.. one last request though.... can you situate the campsite nearer where the cars are? cus i nearly died walking up that hill with my stuff! specially sunday when it was like brown slop!
holls :) x

i was a wee bit pissed off about the quiet systems and lineups bein confused, but i didnt come to the event expecting to pay £4 for a shit burger, or £3 for a cup of tea, or £4 for a beer. im a student an not a rich man, ill do it diy!!

Also i thought that the portaloos were 10 times cleaner than the ones at global - i went into one at global an saw a huge turd curled all around the shape of the seat!! lol an u cud smell them from literlly a mile away

also annoyed at the lack of hardhouse, its been adertised as "one of the best hardhouse events this summer" well cally cage an kim ayres didnt even get a set each.. an charlotte birch?? needed more lisa pin up too.

i did hear that sum drum n bassers walked in to some girls tent and stole her purse and phone,

DnB heads get blamed for everything. If that had been a Hardcore guy that did it, you wouldn't feel the need to let us know that- but why now do you feel the need to point out that the person who apparently robbed some girl was into DnB?!

because the majority of the people goin dnt like robbing chavs..... that innevitably love dnb it seems. there were quite a few causin trouble, (trying to take armbands an food off my mates) an all wearin dnb hoodies. cooinsidence? not my place to decide really, i stay away. if u can put up with it cool, everyones respects the fact that the majority of DnB'ers are safe as fuck.

its a real shame cos i enjoy dnb, but the atmosphere in there was terrible - in there for 20 mins an 2 diffent groups of people were being cocks.

was annoying..........................

i was most pissed off about the alcohole.......
thay made it clear you were not to take alcohole in with you however once you had paid for it in the campsite you had it confascated again as you went in to the festival site, then when u bougth beer on site it was £1-50 more, PANTS I SAY,

howeveri still had a good time apart from tenets being in the wrong places and loads of other shit witch ill remember later........

Honestly, Most of the chavs i spoke to were there for the hardcore.

there were quite a few causin trouble, (trying to take armbands an food off my mates)

cooinsidence?

Eh?

DnB'ers are safe as fuck.

Uh huh.

No. The atmosphere in the DnB tent was spot on. I saw no trouble at all! Everyone there was having a wicked time. Our tent was the only one that actually had any type of atmosphere right through until the end. Hardcore and a few others flaked out throughout- not so hardcore after all eh.

You really don't have to. This attitude towards DnB heads really irritates me. Of course they're gonna give you a bit of attitude if they can sense you're nervous of them or looking at them like dirt.
