Archangel^ presents City Breaks @ canal club Wolverhampton

Since the launch of city breaks in London and the amount of festival gigs on their way the award winning roster of DJ’s from the archangel collective have been receiving massive amounts of interest from all over the UK and are now landing in Wolverhampton for the biggest party the city has seen in quite a few years.

Main room:

CITY BREAKS

The Rogue Element – Since signing a two-album deal with the reputable and eclectic Exceptional Records in 2004, The Rogue Element has taken the Breakbeat world by storm, and was awarded the ‘Best Breakthrough Producer’ award at the prestigious Breakspoll International Breakbeat Awards at Fabric. In addition to this the acclaimed debut album ‘Rogue Rock’ was released in September 2005, which received a nomination for ‘Best Album’.

2006 saw The Rogue Element continue in a prolific manner with remixes of some of the biggest names in Breakbeat (Stanton Warriors, Freestylers, Krafty Kuts, the Crystal Method) and drum and bass (Noisia). DJ tours took him all over Central and Eastern Europe, to the Far East, and to Australia and New Zealand. Continued collaborations with Tom Real, available on Functional, were similarly lauded and succeeded in crossing over to the electro scene (He’s So Hot Right Now). Single ‘Dead Drummers/The Moves’ is received enthusiastic support from major DJs and national radio alike. The Rogue Element’s ascent from newcomer to major player was confirmed at the Breakspoll 2006 awards, where Ben claimed the gongs for Best Producer and Best Remix. www.myspace.com/therogueelement

Dj Quest – DJ Quest is a name synonymous with all things Breakbeat. Since first getting into the music in early 2000, Quest has been instrumental in shaping the heavier, more club-oriented style of breaks, alongside like-minded artists such as The Stanton Warriors, Deekline, Future Funk Squad and Tayo. Quest was signed to Deekline’s labels, Rat Records and Hardcore Beats, and the result was many hits in this burgeoning scene. With tracks such as “Bad Boy DJ” and “Old Skool” becoming massive hits overnight, this paved the way for a project that is still very special to Quest. Rat Sessions Volume 1, released in 2002, was arguably the first album ever released in the more bassline, club orientated vein, featuring tracks such as “Floor Basher”, “Say Yeah”, “Feeling” and “Synthetic Funk”. www.myspace.com/cyberfunkmusicgroup

Far Too Loud - Emerging from outer London, Far Too Loud are a UK Breakbeat DJ/production collective, whose sound is becoming increasingly recognized for its peak-time mix of heady psychedelic, tough basses and heavy funk, influenced by some serious partying across the country.
Since their debut in summer 2005, Far Too Loud has brought a string of releases to the scene on highly respected labels such as 777, Broke and Funkatech. These have had airplay on major radio stations such as Radio 1 and Kiss FM and support from top acts including Meat Katie, Plump DJs, The Breakfastaz, The Rogue Element and Aquasky. Their Louder than Life EP has met with critical acclaim, with part 2 picking up the Breakspoll 2007 award for best single! As well as appearing as guests on Radio 1, Kiss and Ministry of Sound radio, they hold a fortnightly Saturday show on the award-winning Breaks FM and appear on rotation on the brand new Funkatech show on iBreaks radio so there is no excuse not to check!! www.myspace.com/fartooloud

RCAINE - has played alongside such DJ’s as Rennie Pilgrim, James Zabelia, Stanton Warriors’ Dom-B, Drum monkeys’ Carl Loben, the Breakfastaz, far too loud and many more since winning the pioneer competition in 2006 at some of the leading venues in the UK, as-well as playing main slots at various events up and down the UK and running his own promotion called RAW. He takes a no nonsense attitude on the decks and makes sure you take notice with his blend of driving dark dirty basslines and techy energetic Breaks. All in all, if you’re where he’s playing, you’ll be dancing.
With slots confirmed all over place even the moon, including 5 major outdoor festivals such as the 777 Antiworld festival alongside Pendulum, Breakfastaz, Hybrid and the Stantons plus a residency at City Breaks, and support from Annie Nightingale on the production side of things you will be hearing a hell of a lot more about this guy. www.myspace.com/djrcaine

Doc vin - has taken Wolverhampton by storm. Since he became the no.1 breaks resident Dj at Rcaine's underground night Raw, a night that has developed into and is now renowned as the biggest and best underground event that Wolverhampton has to offer.
His love for the crowd when he is DJ’ing is his strong point and his sets mirror this as anytime he is behind the decks, the dancefloors don't get a breather with the room rocking non-stop thanks to his unique style of mixing and tune selection. Now with sets confirmed at many events all thru the year, his residency at RAW and including being broadcast live on nsb radio across the world on the opening set at city breaks @ canal club 2007 looks set to change his life. www.myspace.com/doc_vin
