Grave 03/08 feat The Strand, Ikonoklast, and Dj Mighty Mike Saga!!!

What is GRAVE? GRAVE is a hybrid between two subcultures, Its an all night EDM Cybergoth show that is open enough to account for the Rave Community as well as the Goth Community. There is a sect of the scene that fall in to this catagory, majority of the EDM community that listened to the likes of Skinny Puppy long before they ever heared traditional Rave music... What exactly is a GRAVER? This is taken from Ishkurs guide to EDM Culture....

ishkur.com

Goth raver (graver)

A hybrid of two subcultures, seemingly polar opposite to one another in manner, cheerfulness, and taste, but unified in their love of hedonistic tendencies. Goth ravers tend to wear black but with flashes of color, and slightly different accessories, generally sexual fetish-oriented. But not too scary--just a tad.

Goth ravers, unlike their candy raver counterparts, don’t hug people; they pretend to bite them. But in a PLURy way.

Mighty Mike Saga is a Notorious Dj known for keeping dance floors on fire till closing time. Mike Saga fell in love with dark music in the late 80's in Texas and never stopped his love for dark dance. At the young age of 12 he knew he loved dark music and industrial when he had the luck of tuning into a radio station that played songs from bands like A SPLIT SECOND, NITZER EBB, FRONT 242, KLINIK, ORANGE SECTOR, the music had quite an influence on him. While most kids are growing up at that age listening to "pop" music, he had the honor of hearing a TRUE underground sound. He's had the guest privilege of DJing at events on the east coast like Cybertron NYC, Various Vampire Freaks Events, Byte NYC, SMack NYC, MOTHERF*CKER NYC, QXT's Purge Events, Dracula's Ball, Nocturne, Dark Wave Productions events & dozens of underground events. He's a floor filler and pleaser with his sets of EBM, 80's Industrial, Synthpop, and depending on the mood of the event you may even hear some terror EBM and Rythmic Noize!! You may just have to attend to figure out that mystery...!!

The Strand does not take the conventional techno approach when bringing the music to a live scenario. Instead, a majority of the music is performed live with a drummer, four keyboardists, male and female vocals. If you have not seen a live performance by The Strand, it is really something to consider checking out. Currently the band is booking shows and hard at work on their next CD release, for mid 2008.

Ikonoklast, a group often relatively described as going beyond the constraints of conventional heavy music. With the infusion of electronic backing tracks and sampling, modern metal, and ravaging vocals we have developed a sound like no other. In conjunction with an energetic stage show and extensive self-promotion, not to mention an ever-growing street team of loyal fans, we have become one of the most recognized bands in Phoenix and quite possibly one of the most recognized unsigned bands in the U.S.
