Confirmed artists;

VIBRASPHERE

Rickard Berglöf
A decade in any music industry is no mean feat in any style of music – but in electronic music, it’s a proverbial lifetime. Few acts can claim this feat at all, let alone claim ten years of success – but in the European summer this year, that is what Sweden’s Vibrasphere have accomplished. Vibrasphere can trance their beginnings to the infancy of the trance movement itself in the mid nineties. Rickard Berglöf was a member of early Goa supergroup Subcouds, while Robert Elster was working on his own projects at home on his trusty Amiga computer. After being introduced through Rickard’s cousin, the pair formed a strong friendship and decided to start working on a new project in Cloud 99 Studios. In the summer of 1998, the Vibrasphere project was born and the pair have continued to add to the studio since. The next ten years they firmly earned their claim to be one of the progressive trance sound’s founding fathers, with this, their fifth release (and second on Tribal Vision) a testament to the pairs amazing diversity and characteristic sound. But don’t the pigeonhole the Vibrasphere sound as merely “trance” or “progressive” either – they have produced in a myriad of different styles with a strong focus on ambient and downbeat, along with their dance music in a variety of different genres as well. They have even had their hands in various soundtracks film and media projects, and their live career has taken them around the globe, playing hundreds of shows at some of the world’s biggest clubs and festivals and earned them the respect of dance’s superstar DJs like Hernan Cattaneo, Armin Van Buuren, Paul Oakenfold, Christopher Lawrence and many, many more. However, like any long career, they have had their own highs and lows. The hectic touring schedule that took its toll on Robert in the time after the release of early albums Echoes on Spiral Trax and Lime Structures on Digital Structures. He temporarily left the group and left Rickard to continue the project and travel alone. However it was not long till Robert rejoined Rickard and they haven’t looked back since, producing 2 more albums - Archipelago on Digital Structures and Exploring the Tributaries on Tribal Vision. With this, their fifth and new release “Lungs of Life” on Tribal Vision, Rickard and Robert promise a maturation of their diverse sound and another step forward for this dynamic production duo.

For close to a decade, Swedish duo Rickard Berglöf and Robert Elster (better known to the world as Vibrasphere) have been pumping out tracks from their Cloud 99 Studios. With over a 100 released productions to their name and gigs in all parts of the world, they are without a doubt one of the most sought-after and respected trance acts in the world today. Early releases “Echo” (2001) on Spiral Trax & “Lime Structures” (2003) on Digital Structures established them as truly leading figures of the progressive trance scene, earning them a place in the history of this progressive sound. Their 3rd Album, “Archipelago” (also on Digital Structures) was regarded as one of the seminal releases of 2006 and after their short break in 2005, firmly signally Vibrasphere were back on the scene. In late 2006, the single “Floating Free” was picked up by Superstar DJs Markus Shulz & Armin Van Buuren for their radio shows, resulting in a string of licenses including Gatecrasher Live on Ministry of Sound and Armada Trance Vol. 1. Strong support from DJs Paul Van Dyk, Hernan Cattaneo, Paul Oakenfold, Christopher Lawrence, Remy, Menno de Jong, Kenneth Thomas and John 00 Fleming has helped with making a successful transition to a wider audience and a whole new generation of Vibrasphere fans. Riding on the back of their successful 2006 release Archipelago (and its subsequent remix cd), Vibrasphere released their 4th full length album, “Exploring the Tributaries” this time on Tribal Vision Records in June 2007. In the spring of 2008 Vibrasphere released a track called Autumn lights on John “00” Fleming..s label Joof. For the end of 2008 Rickard and Robert are planning an special album release due to the fact that the Vibrasphere project turn 10 years.

WES STRAUB
(Area709/System Recordings/La Folia Recordings)
area709.com

Residing in Calgary, Canada, in just a short few years, Wes has become one of Western Canada’s brightest progressive djs. He’s played clubs and events big and small from Ibiza to Mexico to the Shambala, Burningman and Motion Notion festivals and has opened shows for the likes of Markus Schulz (Calgary’s favorite opener for Markus), Nick Warren, Jody Wisternoff, Vibrasphere, Max Graham, Laidback Luke and Infected Mushroom, all the while continuing to hold down one of the most successful progressive residencies in Calgary: Pure.Prog at the Amsterdam Rhino, coming into its third year. Wes’s sets can be also be heard regularly online through his monthly 709Sessions radio show, which gets broadcasted on such stations as Digitally Imported, Dance Radio, Tribal Mixes (London) and Evolved.fm.

Wes’s sound has grown from early trance influences, into a rich and diverse blend of deep progressive music; fusing together elements of deep house, melodic techno and trance. His sound is a combination of insightful track selection and technically brilliant mixing, making it often difficult to categorize and lock down to any specific influence or genre. His early production efforts continue to deliver this same diversity, with his first release “Rain Drops” (including remixes from Moonbeam and Inanna on La Folia Recordings) garnering solid reaction everywhere and his next two offerings, "Numb" and "Falling Colder" already have been picked up by System Recordings, due out in the summer of 2009.

Apart from his own ambitions, Wes is also one of the original founders of area709.com, an organization tied together through its website; critically acclaimed in the industry for its design, functionality and diverse content, and supported by a large international audience.

SPYDER
(Cosmic Sea Procuctions/ WarsawPact Ent.)

Spyder's musical career started at the tender age of 13 years old in NY. Having been raised on classic rock and disco, Spyder was always looking to continuously expand his musical boundaries. Having befriended a schoolmate who was into heavier music such as SOD, Agnostic Front, and Slayer, Spyder was hooked on extreme music. It wasn't until the winter in early 1989 that Spyder attended his first "Techno" party in which Frankie Bones and the legendary Kraftwerk. Coming from an upbringing of Disco, Spyder was also now hooked on the sound of Electronica. Spyder was also fortunate enough to have a neighbor who owned a sound company and allowed Spyder and friends to help him when hip hop shows would come to town. While working with acts like Public Enemy, 3rd Bass and Tribe Called Quest, Spyder was really bitten by the bug to become a bigger player in the production of live shows and parties. After securing his first club gig doing lighting in 1991, Spyder chose to move west to Tucson Arizona to continue his life in the desert. After becoming a hardcore concert goer and attending parties in Arizona, Spyder decided to get back in the game by hitting the road with Life Of Agony out of NY. During the tour, Spyder had a chance to work with other bands such as Carcass, Type O Negative, Dog Eat Dog, Obituary, and Monster Voodoo Machine just to name a few. Touring was exactly what Spyder needed to make the move to go back into professional lighting and sound in Arizona.
Spyder finally settled in Scottsdale where he has worked in numerous nightclubs, bars, and parties as well as helping to construct numerous nightclubs in town. After years of party production and concert promotions with his company, Cosmic Sea Productions, Spyder has dedicated himself full time to the art of DJing. Besides working as a Program Manager @ Stratus, Spyder has not slowed down, as 2009 will feature parties such as Inferno, Flesh, Paradox, Machine, the infamous Harmonic ConcorDance, and Just Another Desert Party. Spyder never seems to rest.
Throughout the years, Spyder has been a promoter, dj, lighting tech, sound engineer and radio personality. Spyder has been involved in the music business for over 23 years and it's his true passion. You can catch Spyder spinning anything from PsyTrance to House to Trance to Techno to Progressive. As long as it's deep and darque, Spyder will play it.

NICK SYNERGY
(Overmind Works/Sonic Dragon recordings)

Nick Synergy hails from the southern midwest. After some experience as a mainstream DJ,he caught the techno bug in 1992, ironically from the radio. The newfound rave culturealso fascinated him, and thus he became increasingly absorbed by DJing and electronicmusic. He began beatmaching in 1995 and has been immersed in many facets of underground dance culture ever since.
He's a bit of an idealist, but something of a realist. He has a benevolent nature andbrings a solid work ethic to creating and promoting events. Gravitating toward thefunky, groovy, and progressive sides of electronic music, the dynamic vibe this mancarries is best demonstrated by the music he plays.

HAZARDOUS
(Devious Dou Ent)

PAC D
(IBB)

Pac D has been a long time driving force in the soulful Drum'nBass realm of
the Arizona music scene. He cut his teeth on the jump up styles of the late
90’s, and moved into the harder roller sound in 2000. Frustrated by the lacking human element of music he took on a different role, teaching others to play records and giving his pupils an understanding of electronic music. While on hiatus from playing he found an organic style of the likes of Omni Trio and LTJ Bukem. Upon his return to the decks in early 2002, Pac D had a new found focus on promoting the organic and soulful sides of DnB. Although this is a slight departure from the downtempo style he started with, Pac D has no problem destroying the dancefloor with his soul soaked beats.
