Don't Stay In hits the desert!

This article is about Phoenix AZ (USA)

Wub, a UK DJ who flew out for local promoter Global's event La La Land, told us what drew him to Phoenix in the first place: "Seeing the AZ pictures on Don't Stay In and talking to the DJs, it fitted my idea of what the nucleus of the rave scene looked like, this time fuelled by the internet."

Wub runs a forum on DSI, which is used by the vast majority of Arizona promoters and organisers to publicise their events. How and when this connection between a website based at Mixmag Towers in London’s damp Kings Cross and ravers in the Valley Of the Sun developed is a mystery - but whatever the reason, the locals cite DSI as a huge vehicle for the electronic dance scene in the state capital: "If an event isn't listed on DSI,” says local DJ Spear, “it basically doesn't exist.

" 'If an event isn't listed on DSI,' says local DJ Spear, 'it basically doesn't exist.' "

No disrespect to Spear, but this isn't really true. There are electronic music events here that don't get advertised on DSI. There are also plenty of club nights/events that don't get advertised here. Just sayin'...

I'm not paying one hundred us dollars for a subscription... when it wouldn't even get me the one in question... sorry. If they have it in normal stores I'd buy ONE maybe. I could rave every weekend of the month for that price lol.

True, but they almost always do eventually, especially if its a well known headliner.
If its some aspiring DJ, most likely not ;p
