Music : Trance
Aly Amr Fathalah (Aly) and Fadi Wassef Naguib (Fila), the Egyptian duo, were both born in 1981 and have known each other since childhood. After falling in love with the music of Paul Van Dyk, Steve Helstrip and Chicane, they built their first small studio in 1999 and started producing electronic music and DJing. After establishing themselves in Egypt, they decided to go international. In 2002, they signed with the German record label Euphonic Records. Their first release, "Eye of Horus" received huge airplay from the likes of Paul Van Dyk, Armin Van Buuren, DJ Tiësto, and many others. The track was licensed to Fundamental Recordings in Holland and reached number 4 position in the Dutch Dance charts. After finishing their contract with Euphonic Records, Fila met with Andy Prinz and together they launched their first sublabel, Offshore. Upcoming Egyptian releases would follow. Their first release through Offshore Music Switzerland / AP Pro Audio "Spirit of Ka" made it on numerous playlists. They have played alongside Armin Van Buuren in A State of Trance episode 300 and A State of Trance episode 350. They have been voted on DJ Mag poll as one of the top 100 DJs in the world twice. They ended 2007 as number 111. In 2008, they jumped to the 31st position on the list and 22nd in 2009. The duo have had an extreme impact on the world of trance advancing every year more than the year before it. The duo have recently opened a new record label, naming it like their radio show "Future Sound of Egypt" Recordings. The record label has signed various well respected Djs such as Sean Tyas, Akesson and Neptune project. They have also signed several up and coming Egyptian trance DJs that have become very well known in the trance communtiy both in Egypt and worldwide. alyandfila.com myspace.com djmag.com <-- Ranked #22
