This party could have been so much better.
First off let me say that I had a good time with all the amazing people I met and the free beer everyone shared with me! I was unsure about going to this party, but it seemed like it would be a good show even tho I didn't know who any of the DJ's were. I thought the set up was pretty dope when I got there about 10-10:30ish. Good sound and the lighting was ill. I think it was Creeper spinning at the time? Really good Hardstyle and the crowd was jumpin. The next DJ was good too, some kind of weird House I liked. That's when things went bad. The generator kept failing, and I heard they only had one for all that equipment when they obviously needed two. The DJ's after that second one bored the crowd til they started leaving. Then at midnight I think, some Happy Hardcore DJ was playing it really slow and trainwrecking almost every mix. Who was he anyway? He really relly sucked then cheered himself for an encore. And the next DnB DJ was even worse! The crowd went from like 100 people to like 50. Then the generator cut out again for a long time, and we left feeling jipped and disappointed. I mean who puts there rockin DJ's on at 10 and throws trainwreckers on as headliners? I heard that this guy has done really good parties before. These seemed like really amateurish mistakes. What happened and what went wrong?

The intent of this party I believe was not to create a monumental stellar musical performance, but to create a good vibe. Looks to me like some of the things that could have been better are in the hands of the people that got the wrong idea and left. This is a desert party and not a club.

Though you do have some really good points in there as well so don't get the idea that I don't agree with some of the things you have said (particularly about the generator)

That confuses me. I go to these parties to hear good music and dance. And maybe those DJ's that were doing so bad were new to it or something, but why would you put them on at midnight?

n the hands of the people that got the wrong idea and left.

If half the rave decides that the party is lacking and decides to leave by 2, when it should by jumping, you're going to blame them for getting the wrong idea? It's the ravers that make the party. At least I think so.

This is a desert party and not a club.

I hate clubs. I always have. Warehouse parties and desert parties are always the best, just not this time. Where I'm from if you're not a good DJ, you either don't get to spin or you at least get put on an early time slot. And I've seen it like that out here before. That's why I'm asking what happened.

Well hey it can't be good every time, or else we would be conditioned to expect it every time, and thus would be more horribly disappointed if something did go wrong.

But from the sounds of you being used to better than this I am glad you have seen a lot of good shows. I certainly did when I lived in Detroit so I can sympathize with you for the music. A 20 person party in a small office space in detroit would have had a sound system twice the size of the average desert party setup, and often there would be live PA techno. Go to one of their real events and you'll be fucking floored.

Actually I had heard from somebody who was spinning that there was something going on with the tables causing them not to function right or something so you can't fault them entirely for that

Well hey it can't be good every time,

No, I hear ya man. Back 2 the desert was a lot of fun even tho there wasn't that many people there. The music was jamin and some old dude was chanting and I had a really good time. I don't usually post much on here, but I saw people saying how epic and amazing the party was and thought I should say how I felt about the night. Thanks for respecting my opinion.

Hmm. Wonder what was wrong with the tables? Some of the DJ's were doing great and others weren't. That Creeper guy rocked it hard, and I normally like DnB. And the DnB DJ looked like he was gonna fall asleep at the wheel. Yeah equipment problems can suck, do you know what kinda decks they were?

Woah sweetheart. Slow your roll. I'm not talking trash. I had issues that I was curious about, and I come on here and give my opinion and ask some questions and get attacked by a candy raver? I hope your attitude doesn't reflect his, because that's no way to talk to someone with problems about the rave. You just slam me without addressing any of the questions I asked. Do you work for tru vibe, or are you just here to make them look bad by being mean? I don't think I've been rude or disrespectful at all on here and would appreciate the same.

Maybe if this is how "Tru Vibe" feels about people's opinions that pay to come out and give there parties a chance, we won't go to any more of their events. I came on here hoping to get some answers because I saw what could have been a good party and wanted to find out what happened and give them another chance. But if this is the Tru Vibe you guys represent, there are other promoters and other parties. Whatever. PLU. Cause I'm not feeling the Respect.

I hate to say it but Mj has some good points. I love Adam. I was part of Tru- Vibe collective. Shit, I was one of the first 3 people who created Tru- vibe, but the music was weak. Stranger was playing dance core, not HHC, and he was not mixing well at all. I herd 4 trainwrecks. Dj Emotion was way too wasted to play. He shouldn't have played period. i have heard both of these guys before and this was just a bad set for both of them. Sorry that was your first taste of what Tru- Vibe can do, because this was not typical. Shit goes wrong, as a promoter you have to roll with the punches. It was not one of Tru- vibes best parties, but i hope you can all learn from what went wrong and keep improving. That's what it's all about. As for the turn tables, Dustin and I have a lock on some good CDj's, if you guys need help finding good equiptment in the future, hit me up.

Sky baby, Sparkler, I love you guys, and I know how it hurts when someone says the party you put a lot of work into wasn't good, but he was just speaking the truth. you can't hate for that. You guys didn't even acknowledge the fact that dude just wanted to know why shit went down like that so he might still want to go to tru vibe parties in the future. Trust me, i'm a hugee bitch when someone talks trash about one of my events without backing it up, but he kinda did.

And it showed!! The set up was fantastic! The Stage looked great and there was lots of chill space, and everyone working the event was nice as far as I could tell, and the people that did come out really enjoyed it, there were just a few things that could have gone better and that would have made a good party into an AMAZING party. I'm glad you had fun, I had a good time chilling with friends. I think there were a lot of good people there and it was nice to see all you.

Wow. Colleen nailed my opinion on the head here. Much love and respect to Adam for all the stuff that did go right! What we need is to come together as a scene and make this town something good again. We have all the ingredients down, we just need to perfect the recipe. :) I mean, Fight the Dawn has had it's share of mistakes and let-downs, as we all know. But if we can gather our knowledge and work together and learn from each other, I feel like we really have a chance at something good here. And Mjrules, just know that these kids meant no harm and we hope you will come out to any party that is thrown in this town by the promoters like Adam and myself that are literally working our asses off and breaking our own banks to make these events happen, even when there is an ocaisonal mishap... PLUR!

-Dustin-

P.S. Go to Project Sunshine: Bass at Udall park on October 3rd! Oh heelll yeah with the shameless plug!

First of all thanx 2 everyone who came out and thanx 2 everyone who helped set up, clean up, and break down. Yeah there were mistakes and last minute equiptment problems. And the decks were Technics CDJ's which I've never used and most DJ's aren't familiar with. The mistakes are apparent and will be addressed and fixed at the next TVC party. Comments good and bad are greatly appreciated. We all learn from our mistakes and want to take steps so we never do it again. Please don't give up on Tru-Vibe Collective and we won't give up on trying to produce the truest vibe and great parties. Period!
