Some people have smoked for 60 years and not have cancer. Does that make smoking harmless? Substances affect different people to varies degree. But it is also a fact that the less developed mind is more susceptible to dependency and addiction. A line needs to be drawn at some point where it fits the general case. You may think you have some divine ability to handle it where those around you can't. But with all the PLUR you should also be less selfish and think about those around you who undoubtedly would wish to follow suit and may run into real problems. If we let children experiment with drugs to see who can handle it or not then it is already too late.

Also note that the effect of drug use is accumulative. Not suffering any visible affect at first does not guarantee a consequence free future. When the body is still growing it has an exceptional rate of healing and regeneration. However, this regeneration also accelerate the aging process. I can honestly say my mum in her 50's who has never smoked or done drugs and only drinks occasionally has better skin than most of my female friends in their 20's.

If you want to be treated as adults, show the responsibility of an adult. Wait a little. For yourself and for those around you.
