From the Mind of Lee Jones
Well the WMC started off slow and rain soaked, but it ended packed and sun shinny. First I have to apologize for not posting last week, but for those who were in attendance at the conference, you will understand. Second, I have to give my thank yous. Jessica & Oscar P - for getting me off the beach and into working at the conference - they allowed me to get a lot of things accomplished -and I still got a tan. Next it would have to be Master J, Rich Medina, King Britt, Rob Paine, Wilyum, Micha, Tanja, Lee Mayjahs, the O.P. and Rob's vocalist - for ripping the Marlin apart two Sundaes ago. To the staff of the Marlin for making us feel so welcomed. To Venus, Starchild and Grace for holding things down in Philly while we were away.

Finally to everyone that came and supported the party......You guys are all swell.

Now lets get it on - After 120 hours of going to every other party, it was now our turn to host our own little jam. (Please remind me never to start a party at noon again.) After a night of listening to Jay J and crew kill it at Deck 23, I was not a happy camper to wake up and be productive. But we have to do what we have to do. First up was myself and Lee Mayjahs? The Six Million Dollar Man started off the day with a mix of trippy, techy beats that famed the ground work for what would soon become an unexpected master piece. Next up was Wilyum, a veteran from the Shakedown Crew - Will is like a secret agent.....you never know where he is coming from with his choice of tracks. You think one time, Oh ok, he is going to play this way and then BAMM, he drops a bomb on the dance floor and the crowd goes crazy.

While Wilyum was playing, we felt a tremor in The Force. A Jedi Master was approaching the Marlin. Oscar P Kenobi, took over the tables and with knowledge passed along by the ancients. Aware that other jocks had been rocking the D.F. remix of Cause and the Cure, Oscar started off with a sweet, almost Bosa Nova mix of this conference jam. Next he used The Force to blend soulful vocals along with crisp Latin riffs to spark the dance floor. Sensing that his work here was done, he passed the table on to the next DJ.

With Johnny Fiasco running late - Wilyum and I took over the tables and tagged teamed the dance floor. I started off with some dance floor favorites and Wilyum followed in tandem. I have to say that Will is one of my favorite Djs to Tag with. He reminds me of Clark Kent/Superman because he comes across as a meek individual and then when he hits the decks......He turn into this Super Hero that slays all evil mixes and distributes justice and good beat to the good people on the dance floor. Will and I kept the dance floor pumping until we heard the Fanfare coming from the street. Royalty had arrived.

King Britt, on this day, traded in his crown and walked over to the chalk board and thus began to teach a class in "the art of seduction". Starting off slow and sexy with a classic Sade track. For next 90 minutes, Britt lured the crowd in and seduced them with deep, chocolate beats. He caressed the dance floor and gently parted their legs to allow to move freely across the floor. Increasing the heat and heavy petting, King played tracks pulsated off the skin and penetrated the souls of those gathered. And just when, he had everyone baited - he snapped the preverbal bra off and got buck wild with the dance floor. At the climax of his set.....no a dry pair of panties in the building.

This could have been a daunting task....to take over the tables after King Britt. But Rich Media towers over all other jock (literally). Rich saw a wrecked dance floor and began to sooth it with some old remedies past down from generation to generation. From Motown to Jill Scott, Rich replenished the worn out souls and took them on a journey, they would never forget. This traveled DJ took beats from the Far East and clashed them with the sounds of the West. From Afro - Cuban to Swiss Mix, Medina took the dance floor to a spiritual level. With each and every cut, he lifted the crowd so high, they could dance with the Gods. BUT..... he then dropped the floor and crashed the unsupecting crowd in to the heavy, sexy, tribal beats of Hell. I had to push through the crowd and tell him to stop...I didn't think they could take any more!!!! But he just smiled and continued to whip the dance floor into a frenzy. Preparing the brew for another DJ.

That would be Rob Paine. From Alma Horton to Steely Dan, this Worship Recs founder could only allow the spirituality to continue to flow. Every track continued to elevate the crowd. Pausing every now and again, to allow guest artists to collaborate within his set (Micha, Tanja Dixon and Elfree) he kept the hands in the air and the feet on the dance floor. The who's who of the conference were all at the Sundae Shakedown and Rob Paine had even them dancing out on the patio and side walk.

This party became a Master Piece... I was only expecting a few of our friends to show up and support. I was overwhelmed by the vast numbers of people that came, stayed and supported this party. I have to personally thank all the talented artists and jocks that shared this night with us. And a big shout out to Rob Paine for inviting Sundae to come along and play in Miami. hank you all for coming......and for those who can't make it to Philly.....See you next year in Miami. LEE JONES
