The Miami Music conference is to be held at the Miami Beach Convention Centre, located right in the heart of South Beach. Ambassadors from every major dance label will descend on Miami in an attempt to visit as many of the two hundred and fifty parties being held in the vibrant South Beach district, trying to get their hands on the best new white labels. It's A&R heaven!
This is where every aspect of the business world-wide comes together. New relationships are forged and deals are struck, with the backdrop of some of the best new music of the year being debuted. If a new buzz is going to be experienced, like many believe has faded slightly in recent years on the magical Isle of Ibiza, then Miami is that place. Last year, representatives from over sixty countries were in attendance, including executives from both major and independent labels, publishers, promoters, managers, agents, artists, DJs, remixers, producers, radio and video programmers, retailers, internet companies, equipment manufacturers, as well as media from across the globe.
In recent years, this annual event has become one of the most important dates in the industry calendar. The five day get-together attracts a plethora of A List DJs eager to play and impress, you would be hard pressed to locate such a high concentration of dance music talent in any other one place at one time and this is crucially where the hottest new tunes of the forthcoming summer (particularly for the Ibiza season!) are showcased. Miami becomes party central for one frantic week - various venues such as Space, Opium Garden, State, Privilege Club, Orgy & BED to name but a few (as well as the varying hotels offering hospitality) hold host to the multitude of parties and showboating expected to entertain the masses.
Expect a healthy flow of new releases in the record stores in the weeks following the exhibition...A popular and busy time for the discerning DJ's and one in which we all tend to step up a gear on that never ending, heat seeking record trail!
However, Some just go purely to party...which is nice!
