Well, this is the biggest one so far. This also happens to be the club I bartend at. It is a restored 1920's theatre, and I think it's pretty beautiful for such a small town like Augusta. Check out the website, and tell me what you think - I'd be curious to see what it compares to in England.

So how was it mate?

Ok - here's the evening in microcosm. . .

1. Spent the afternoon running around getting ready for a special lady friend who was coming from out-of-town for the event.

2. Got a call from said lady nearly in tears that something had come up and she might not be able to make it.

3. Got another call - now she CAN make it, everything is good

4. She shows up, I show her the deluxe hotel accomodations that I have added candles, champagne, ect ect to - she is VERY inpressed - I am thinking this night will be monumental

5. Go to the club

6. The main DJ for the night plays the first set, I then start my first set, I have a slight case of nerves

7. A note is passed into the booth - my date's dad is in hospital suddenly (he has cancer) and she needs me to take her back to her car right away

8. I am trying to be understanding, but I am also angry/disappointed. I speed.

9. I am pulled over by the police for speeding. He asks me if I have been drinking, I say no (lie), he notices my date is upset, and finds out about her dad, he lets us go with a warning.

10. I see my date off after a brief "i'm sorry and will make it up to you" snog.

11. Upon returning to the club I am angry, I start my second set, I don't give a fuck, I am no longer nervous, I play many BANGING hip-hop tracks old and new, I turn many beers upside down in defiance

12. The floor fills up as my partner in crime Kenny Ray does his second set

13. We tear the roof off for the rest of the night - I dance with the new cocktail waittress I have a crush on, I culminate my "last call for alcohol set" with a dramatic pause between records then "Gimmie a BEAT!" . . . "Nasty" (old school Janet Jackson track) plays. . . people say "woo-hoo"

14. I go to an after party with my fellow DJ, he lands a fit bird for the evening, I give him the hotel key (I have now recouped my hotel money by doing this) - he now has a place to shag - the 70$ bottle of Veuve will not go to waste, everyone is happy

15. I go home to sleep in my own bed, rather drunk.

I know that doesn't sound like microcosm, but believe me, it is.
